‘Are you feeling any better?’
Nera’s voice came from the other side of the bungalow, Amenii hardly noticed as her attention was fixed on the view offered by their temporary residence. Only when Nera repeated herself, did Amenii pull herself away. ‘Yeah, it’s beautiful. I’m still not sure how you managed to swing this on such short notice.’

Laughing Nera returned carrying two drinks in hand, at the sight of them Amenii’s frame tensed.

‘Relax.’ No more special additives in these.’ She grinned, though a bit of a forced smile this time that did not escape Amenii’s notice as she accepted one of the coconuts halves, complete with miniature umbrella. ‘Though that last time was on you, you little paranoid fluff ball.’ Nera added under her breath.

Amenii’s free hand moved to rub her front, the memory of the last incident involving morning coffee still fresh in her mind. And the twenty four hour disaster that had followed.

‘Lets…not talk about that.’ Amenii managed, dropping her hand. Though that was probably the cause that she and Nera were here now, Amenii still harbored some resentment towards the hyena, despite hearing Nera’s explanation.

Taking the hint, Nera nodded and quickly shifted gears, knowing full well that her bunny lover would probably stay mad about the latest incident for the better part of a month, just as she had around Easter and that fiasco. ‘So, I have us scheduled for wind surfing lessons later today.’

‘Wind surfing, are you sure that is safe?’

Cocking an eyebrow, Nera was still getting used to Amenii’s change in demeanor. Ever sense she had lost her legs, she had been a little more cautious almost reluctant at times to go out. Lingering effects of the trauma, the doctor had informed her, it was most likely phycological scarring due to the brutality of the accident. Amenii, Nera had noted, tried to avoid the subject whenever possible. Determined to break through the mental barrier Amenii had surrounded herself in, Nera had been scheduling outings, taking Amenii out on the town, making sure that she stayed active whenever possible, now was just such an occasion. That and she was not above using a few well placed friends.

‘Oh its save enough, and, there will be a few friends joining us as well. Do you recall that gazelle couple we met on the beach a last year? You know, the one that…’

Amenii nodded, recalling the two lovers and their subsequent meeting.

‘I remember.’ She added, after the chaos that had surrounded her life following beach, Amenii had accidentally slipped out of contact, though now that she though about it she could remember these two clearly. ‘So they will be joining us?’

‘They are.’ Nera slipped up the railing and leaned against it, one hand reaching down to pluck her little over off the floor and place her on the railing beside her. ‘And they have been looking forwards to seeing you too.’
