‘It’ll be good for you that’s why.’ Nera gave her lover another shove to the door, the bunny before her was firmly resisting, trying to dig her toes in like miniature anchors. Idly she wondered if the pads had some type of hidden anchors installed that Amenii had never mentioned before. Growing more flustered, she relented her efforts for a second. ‘Honestly, I have never seen you so resistant to going out for a night on the town, it’s not like I’m taking you to one of the more notorious clubs anyways.’
Amenii cocked her head back to stair upwards, her dubious expression was enough to make Nera crack a smile, she looked so cute when she was mad, or upset, or…

‘Will you stop smiling like that!’ Amenii’s voice cut through her thoughts.

‘Sorry, your just so cut-‘ Nera politely cut herself off, knowing how much bunnies hated to be called such.

‘As for this club, what did you call it – The Fangs of Death?’ Amenii folded her arms, her ears clipping sharply behind her back in irritation as she looked away. ‘That’s your idea of a civilized night club?’

‘The Tooth and Claw?’ Nera smiled, knowing all to well that she was taking Amenii to a predator’s club. And though it was possible for those of non predatory nature to enter, it was certainly not common, not that Amenii needed to know that, not yet anyways. ‘Its perfectly safe, just wait and see.’

Amenii stood frozen in the door way, her green eyes gone wide as saucers at the scene before her.

‘Go on.’ Nera playfully pushed her over the threshold, nodding, and giving the bouncer there her best smile. The twin panthers exchanged an unspoken glance between them, something Nera caught and logged away in the back of her mind.

Probably betting on how long she will last.

Nera’s own estimates hung around the range of about seven minutes, before Amenii’s built in instinct sent her flying to the door like a brown rocket.

As Nera pushed Amenii into the darkened room and took quick stock of the place, it was a lot like she remembered only larger than before. A small alcove was set into the right wall where a tiger stood quietly, extending a paw for their coats.

The rest of the room was build in a large rectangular semicircle with a raised stage dominating the far wall. The center of the room had been left open and paved with large worn stones offering an open pit for the dancers that reached all the way to the shadowy alcoves for private VIP sessions.

A secondary upper level had been added, draped in foliage giving the place an open jungle like feeling to it; that and coupled with the green and yellow lights from above the whole place felt like it had been uprooted from the heart of the Rainforest District.

‘Come on.’ Nera gave her lover a little push, sending the bunny skittering forwards over the rough floor. ‘Let’s stake out a corner to ourselves.’

Pushing around the edge of the crowd Nera made sure to keep one hand on Amenii’s back as they weaved their way through the assortment of predators.

‘Relax.’ Nera breathed, taking note of how ridged Amenii was. ‘They don’t bite – and you making them nervous.’

‘Me!’ Amenii matched Nera’s quiet tones. ‘Their the ones with teeth and claws, and, and –‘

The music suddenly shifted, picked up and then came crashing down. As it the assortment of dancers applauded as the band rose to take a break, while the next one prepared.

Pushing a chair out for her, Nera lifted Amenii up, before taking a seat herself.

‘Don’t worry, there haven’t been any fatalities in years.’

‘That’s reassuring.’ Amenii glanced behind her sharply, and a duo of panthers who had been looking her direction quickly moved on. Repressing a shiver, Amenii folded her legs in on herself.

‘Consider this therapy.’ Nera leaned forwards sliding her hands across the table. ‘You’ve been a little high strung ever sense the Underbelly case, and now is the perfect opportunity to unwind. Besides, I will be right her with you – Should anyone try something.’

The tiger that had been approaching their table suddenly seemed to remember he needed to be else ware and diverted to the bar.

‘Now, we seem to have a little time.’ Nera smiled. ‘I have just the thing for you.’

Reaching into her hand bag she extracted a small tube of cream and smeared some onto her thumb and for finger, rubbing them together. Then leaning forwards, she made a quick dot-dot-smear down the center of Amenii’s head.

Reflexively, Amenii jerked back.

‘Hey – hold still.’ Nera leaned forwards again, massive paw extended.

Showing no sign of complying, Amenii leaned back. ‘That had better not be musk, or anything you got for that P&P store.’ She hissed, eyes closing to slits.

‘For your information, yes it did come from P&P, and no it is not musk, it happens to be-‘

But before she could properly explain, a drum struck up a sudden beat, drawing all attention forwards to its source. There, standing upon the stage several mammals had taken up their places, tribal instruments in hand. As one the drummers in front rose in pace, as though racing each other only to end in a single crashing boom that shook the room.

‘Oops, looks like it’s started.’ Nera grinned.

‘What’s started?’ Amenii looked around, as the assortment of mammals were getting to their feet, a wild sort of fire kindling in their eyes as the drums began again, the other instruments joining in, drawing the dancers forwards.

With a snap the lights went out, Amenii let out a small scream that was lost in the scuffling of chairs, as around her the world was plunged into darkness and glowing eyes.

Nera’s hand found hers in a heartbeat, pulling her up out of her chair.

‘Come on – here, we go…’

And a second later Nera dragged her out to the floor with the moving mass of bodies.

From above several deep shades of purple bloomed to life, and the dancer’s bodies glittered in the darkness, small flashes of color luminesced in the dark light, flaring in greens, blue, and shades of purple. Some had applied the pigment to their face, arms, or chest, and as they began to move onto the floor Nera smiled, letting slip the clasp on her dress, and casting it onto their table.

Amenii’s mouth was working what was probably a protest but was drowned out by the sudden vibrancy of the crowd. Stepping backwards into the dark lights, Nera smiled as the makeup she had spent hours before rippled to life.

It had taken her the better part of the day to paint each one of her spots for tonight, yet as her fur lumened outshining the most elaborate dancers on the floor she knew it was worth it.

Beckoning to Amenii she clasped the bunny’s small paws and drew her into the sea of predators.
