Description After a long ride over the park, a stretch of the legs at the helipad was a pleasant relief. Sirse had gotten a little tired of wearing muddy and torn clothes, so with a little improvising, and a few salvaged leaves from around the foliage she made herself a new outfit.

Smiling her best smile, 'Do you like it?'

I smile at her while rolling my eyes. My little vixen was dead set in getting her claws in me one way or the other, testing the limits of my being a gentlemammal. True, the outfit definitely showed off her most endearing physical attributes...and more, as I blushed when I realized, as she bent over to retrieve her phone that she had inadvertently dropped, that she had failed to place enough leaves to cover her backside. As my mind filled with thoughts of moons and melons, I tried to focus on the task at hand.

"Errr...where are we supposed to wait for the extraction?" I say, trying to cool down the stifling heat that I felt by pouring some of the water from the canteen over my head.

Smiling mer most innocent smile, Sirse leans up against you. The angle giving more than a modest view of her tiny breasts. Apparently satisfied with her hormonal buradge, she clicked out her response.

'No, not here. This extraction point has been closed for the better part of an hour. That leaves us withone hour to make it to the docks.'

Pointing across the road to a dirt trail going upwards. Complete with a small hexagonal blue and white sign marked heliport. A brisk walk up the path deposits you before the pad, and at its side is a familiar gray and red jeep. As you get closer a group of small green dinosaurs shriek and flee from its open top and into the forest.

'Compies.' Sirse offers as an explanation. 'Scavengers.'

Looking over the jeep, Sirse pops the drivers side door and makes an irritated click with her tongue. A quick visual of the control panel reveals her displeasure. Wires hang torn out of their housing, nobs have been gnawed off, and everything is covered in bight marks.

'This just got more complicated.' She clicks out looking at the wires. Then she freezes, her ears flick back down the path you have just come up. A second later you feel it too. A slow yet steady boom, boom, boom, of an impact tremor.

Boom.

'Getting closer.' Sirse texts. 'And then looks at you, at the clothes she has just taken off, and back up at you. 'It can smell the blood...its not drying in the humidity.'

I hurry over to the driver's side and look at the wires hanging from the steering column. Quickly gathering two of the wires, I immediately strip them of their protective coating and rub them together generating a spark. "Aah, the battery isn't dead yet!"  I thank Ursa for such little blessings that I press the wires together again, making the engine roar and come to life. I quickly get in put the car in gear and yell for Sirse to hop in and buckle up. She does not hesitate and attempts to bring her old clothes with her.

"Leave them!" I say, as I step on the accelerator, as the jeep leaps from the helipad site. "If we survive this, I'll buy you all the clothes that you need. Or give you good reason not to wear any around me," trying for humour to cover my fear. Outrunning a TRex was very high on my favorites list right now.

As we take off, I yell to her over the sound of the engine, "What about the canister? Have you been able to locate where it is so we can retrieve it before we become this reptile's lunch?"

Sirse was shocked as you shoulder her out of the drivers seat to begin working with the wires. A flare of irritation dominating her face as she unceremoniously falls to the ground.

Turning her fall to a roll, Sirse instantly regretted it as the gravel stabbed into her raw back. The pain was enough to loosen her grip on her phone sending it flying off into the bushes where she had discarded her make shift clothes. A frantic search failed to locate the precious object and at your urging she gave up the search and threw herself into the passenger seat.

No easy task as the vehical was already acellerating. Silently cursing the loss of her only means of communication, Sirse's mind worked in rapid succession.
Jamming a finger at the road before her she motioned in a universal 'Go! Go! Go!' Gesture.

Behind the jeep trees crack and splinter, and a second later the rex exploded outwards drawn to the sound of the reving engine. Dropping its massive head it let loose a terrible roar and charged down the path. Closing the distance with alarming speed, it lunged out and with a terrible scream of metal ripps the drivers side door off the hinges.

Sirse's mouth opens in a silent scream, as the head bobs up shaking its prize.

Cursing as the large creature tore off the door like it was made of paper, I floor the accelerator, making the jeep leap forward. I notice Sirse has lost her phone and is making frantic hand signals, trying to make me understand. I see her quickly pointing her finger down the road and I send the jeep careening in the direction she is pointing to. I spot the creature coming after us in the rearview mirror and it appeared to be gaining very quickly on us. It was then I spotted the emergency box in the back.

"Sirse! Grab the flare gun! I may have an idea on how to slow him down!" I yell at her. "Or else, make it think twice about making us his meal."

With frantic determination, Sirse crawled into the back eyes fixated on the looming head that upon seeing her dove, jaws closing inches from her head. Mouth working in a string of silent curses, she dived for the kit behind the seat and tried to wrench it through. The case jammed, once, twice, three times, before the head came down this time smacking the bummer and nearly sending the jeep careening off the road.

Sirse and the kit flew up, and came crashing back down sprawling in an ungainly heap in between the seat and floorboards. The kit’s snaps flew open emptying its contents over the seat and Sirse alike. Angry ripping of fabric and a blur of red fur is the only sign of Sirse’s struggle to get the flare gun prepped. After a small eternity, Sirse emerged clutching the flare gun, heaving it up she wrapped both hands around the it to steady her aim and fell into silent waiting. Chancing a look over her shoulder, she knew better than to fire, and waited for the rest of your plan.

Seeing her armed, I say, "We will only have one chance to give him a bit of heartburn. As soon as he comes back to take a bite of the jeep, aim for the back of his throat and fire as many flares as you can into its open mouth! Use your discretion but if he gets too close, jump and I'll lead him away from you. Leave the stick flares just in case I need to distract him," as I continue flooring the accelerator.

Wishing I could give her a kiss one more time, I pray that my plan will work. The docks are still away in the distance but if we do not get this oversized dog off our tail soon, even the crew at the extraction point would be in danger. From the rearview mirror, I spot the spare tank of gasoline tied down in the back of the jeep that the Trex had not yet bitten off. Another epiphany comes over me.

"Sirse, how good is your aim?" I ask as I lean back to untie the spare tank of gasoline. It would take a great deal of luck, a strong arm and steel nerves but if we succeeded, we would be able to leave this island in one piece.

Sirse’s eyes go wide as you grasp the tank of gas, clearly making her own assumptions as to what you intend to do with it. Mouth working frantically she silently sputters, than shaking her head more in disbelief than anything else, jams a flare into the pistols single chamber and locks it in place. Flashing you a thumbs up, Sirse takes careful aim as the jeep bounces along the half washed out road.

Waiting for you to throw the gas can, Sirse watches the rex with unblinking eyes.

Somewhere it the large reptilian brain, the Rex senses some change in its prey, and charges forwards jaws agape, it lunges strait at the little morsel in the back seat.

I wait till the last moment and then swerve away to the right, allowing the beast to lumber past us, narrowly missing being trampled by one of its gargantuan hind claws. I immediately get out with the spare gasoline can in one paw, a flare stick in the other. I light up the flare and start waiving it above my head while moving away from the truck. In case things do not go as I planned, then Sirse would be ale to make a break for it. I just wished I had a chance to kiss her one more time.

The beast turns and notices the movement of the flare and starts its charge towards me. I place the gas can down and unscrew the top and tear off the remainder of my pants leg and stuff it into the opening. I light the end and just as the beast is upon me, its massive head lunging for me with an open mouth, I fling my makeshift molotov cocktail into its gaping maw and dive for safety just as Sirse fires the flare gun into its open mouth. The flare hits the can at the exact moment the beast's mouth is about to close on my hind paw. The resulting explosion singes off a good part of the fur from my back while knocking me off my hind paws but it does the trick. The beast is screaming in pain as its mouth is on fire and it appears as if it is one of the fabled fire-breathing dragons. At the same time, the explosion has stunned it so it is writhing on its side, while the flames consume the soft flesh of its mouth. After a while, the large reptile stops its death throes and lies still.

I slowly get up, smelling my burnt fur. Suddenly, I feel a cool breeze on my buttocks. I look down and I realize that I had lost more than just fur when the can had exploded. I quickly duck back into the underbrush while I call out to Sirse, "Would there happen to be any large leaves near you? And if you could stitch them together for me, that would be wonderful. I'll just wait here behind the tree, if you don't mind."

I peek around the tree only to see her rolling about on the ground. I become alarmed, thinking she's been hurt but then I spy her eyes closed and her mouth open in silent hysterics while she grasps her stomach, doubled over with mirth. I grumble in a low voice. "Humph. Women!" She hears me which makes her smirk even more, tears of laughter streaming down her eyes.

After a few more minutes if mirth, Sirse managed ti straighten up and still clasping her sides moved off into the brush. Rustling around she re-emerges from the foliage dragging several large leaves behind her. With a half concealed smile she hands them over to you, and folds her arms in amusment.

Her own leaves, now quite tattered cling loosely over her body, and threaten to fall of at any moment. Still she folds her arms and looks up at you, gesturing, 'Go on...'

A low rumble behind her causes her to freeze mid festure. Head snapping around she looks at the downed rex, that lets iit a low groan of pain, but remains still. A look of guilt crosses Sirse's face. Motioning for you to keep going, she moves oh so slowly over to the jeep. Drawing out the kit she moves silently over to the rex's neck. Popping the kit she extracts a tranquilizer and pricks the skin just over the major artery. Slowly counting down from sixty, she moved up to the mouth hanging slighy ajar. The sight of the damage caused, makes Sirse cringe.

Extracting from the kit, she returns, sprays the damage with a disinfectant and uses up nearly the full contents of the kit bandageing the burn flesh around the jaws. Unable to do anything more she returns to you, and plants ger hands on her hips.

I look at what she does for the large beast as I come out from behind the tree with the large leaves tied around my lower body to hide most of my nakedness.

"I wish I did not have to do what I did to that poor creature as he was just trying to have a meal, just like we do. Unfortunately, that meal was us and I'll be damned if anything happens to you, mon petit cheri."

"If you think he won't survive, then I'll look for a way to end his suffering. But, if you feel he'll be fine after a few days of rest, then we must be going or else we'll miss the extraction."

"What say you, my dear?"

A little put off by the thought of having to deal with a situation like this one, Sirse looks over at sleeping rex. Gesturing for a moment’s time, she walks back to the rex and lays a hand on its massive snout. Mouth working in silent words, the massive body, shits, tensing and then relaxes. Nostrils flaring, the rex lets out a deep breath.

At ease, she returns to your side, smiles, then as though trying to figure out how to convey a difficult point, she points at the rex, and then frames the mound between her legs. With a lingering look back at the rex her eyes grin with something of mischievous glee. Motioning back towards the jeep, SIrse climbs in to the passenger seat. Eyes cast up to the sun, she seems to gauge the time left, and gives you a glance of growing concern as she taps her wrist where a watch would be.

"A female T-Rex? She must have been searching for food either because she is pregnant or else she has mouths to feed. Either way, I'm glad we didn't become her meal for the day." I reflect as I climb back into the jeep to restart the stalled engine, using the wires to get the engine going once more.

"Where to, mon petit cheri? I think if we have no more distractions, we should be able to make it to the extraction point. What of the other team? Should we expect any trouble from them?" I say as I gun the jeep in the general direction of the docks. "Also, I hope they have clothes for us at the extraction point. I really don't want to experience the concept of very cold male genitalia due to the night chill." I remark as I adjust the leaves around my waist.

I glance over to my companion as she saucily stands on the seat while holding onto the overhead bar, allowing the wind to reveal more of what she had hidden underneath to me. I grin at her as she is deliberately trying my resolve to act as a gentlemammal with her. The memory of what I did to her at the dinner buffet back in the Visitors Centre was still fresh in my mind...and on hers as well, given the suggestive glances she was giving me. "Well, I was hungry. And the food was a nice reward as well." grinning like a hyena at the memory. "I'd like to re-enact our little food fight we had back at the Centre, mon petit cheri,  preferably when we are more relaxed and in a very private setting. I have a private cabana down by the beach. If we survive this adventure, would you be my guest there?"

Smiling Sirse shifts a little to allow the wind to pick at the leaves, drawing them up just enough to draw your attention, yet conceal enough to tempt. At the mention of your cabana her face lights up, and she gives you a knowing smile accompanied by a single nod.

A quick examination of the jeeps glove box, reveals a map, from which Sirse points out a small blue icon with the prow of a ship etched in white over it. The label reads ‘East Docks’ Sliding her finger to an area just to the symbols right, she taps it several times to make her point. Satisfied that you know where you need to be, she folds the map up and tires to answer your last question.

Lacking her phone, the task proves to be a difficult one, brows scrunched in concentration, Sirse makes several gestures, stops, and starts again. Holding up one finger she motions to you, and then to herself. Then repeats the single finger for emphasis. One, one team.

Holding up two fingers she waves one hand in a circle, and then raises her palms to the sky in the universal gesture of ‘I don’t know.’ Giving her shoulders a little shrug to drive home the point. Apparently seeing your frustration at that, she holds up her hand to stop you, or that of surrender, and begins to tear apart the jeep looking for any writing instrument. Finding none she blows out a sigh of irritation through her nose, and points to the driver’s side, now missing a door. Stabbing two fingers at her eyes, and then pointing to you, and then to the area around you, she sits down looking at a loss.

Abruptly she snaps her fingers, and motions for you to pay attention. Pointing at you, ‘Gus’ she makes a gesture of rotating hands moving from her mouth, and adds an evacuated motion of lips moving, as though asking something. Then follows it up with drawing a question mark in the air.

Raising her thumb, she shakes it left and right, in a hopeful gesture of understanding.

I frown. Playing 'Charades' was never my strong point. I was quite good at most of these party games but this always seemed to stump me. "If only she could communicate using her mind, it would make things easier," I reflect. "Just like that actor who played the Vulcan, Speck, in Space Trek. He merely placed his paw to the recipient's brow and they begin to communicate."

"Are you saying that you are not sure where the other team is so we should be careful and approach the extraction site with caution?" I ask her, hoping that I was on target. "In case they are armed?"

I had hoped that extraction would have been a simple matter but I didn't know if they were friendly or not. Sirse had advised avoiding them before she had lost her phone. Being stuck here was not an option to me as I had obligations back home and a bunniger to adopt, as I had promised her I would. And, I didn't know if Sirse wanted to play the part of Eve if we had to repopulate the island with mammals instead of reptiles.

I try to formulate a plan in my mind. Could we rush them? It would be tricky because we would have to approach them downwind so they wouldn't catch our mixed scents. Could we negotiate with them? I doubted it because they could simply double-cross us and take the canister and the vials that Sirse carried with her. Could we sneak aboard the boat? I could swim the distance if it wasn't too far and carry Sirse on my back but we had no guarantee we could overpower the crew. I suddenly realized something.

"Didn't CS drop us off here though one of his portals? Are the East Docks where his portal will open for us? And are you saying the other team may be waiting for the same portal?"

Bombarded with the series of questions, Sirse groaned internally then began to try and compartmentalize her thoughts. The world for a pencil, a marker, anything to write with. Blowing out a sigh of frustration at the situation, she holds up a four fingers, and then drops two of them.

One. She nods. To drive home the point she points at herself and then you and covers her eyes. Then makes a cutting gesture sharply across her throat.

Two fingers, she nods, yes.

Three fingers, She nods again in affirmation.

Four fingers, she shakes her head viciously. Pulling out the map she points at the picture of the boat, and then makes a motion of a captain at the help steering it. Pointing to the map, she runs her finger over the ocean and points then out to sea.

Hoping that some of the message to through, Sirse watches you with a great intensity.

"Alright. So we're to avoid the B Team. If we do come in contact with them, running and hiding are the actions we are to take."

"And, we need to get to the boat where the Captain will bring us back to Zootopia. I can swim to where he is berthed in order for us to sneak aboard so as not to attract the attention of the other team. How am I doing so far?"

"But, how can you be sure that the Captain be trusted and that we are not falling into a trap? Do you have a pre-arranged signal? Something to identify him as friend and not foe?"

Sirse’s gaze is that of one of mild irritation as her hands move in halfhearted motions of the sign language she had trained so hard to learn. But without a recipient it was worthless. Mentally logging that away, she would teach Gus the day they got back.

Doing her best to translate, she held up a single finger again and nodded once to the first question.

At the second question, Sirse hesitates, her hands moving in a so so, gesture of non-committal motion. Brows creasing, she hold up a finger to stall you, then motions with both hands of swimming, and then shakes her head, drawing her hand over her throat in a definitive no. Map in hand she points to the doc symbol, and then at the coast near the symbol tapping it with her claw.

Motioning for your hand, she takes a singer finger and with pain staking slowness draws out the letters.

‘C…O…A…S…T…’

As you fire of the last three questions in rapid succession Sirse’s eyes bug for a second and she casts her head skywards in a ‘Why Me?’ explanation to some unseen deity. The motion only lasts a second, and she smiles back at you, though unable to speak, her eyes tell you that she is playing with you. Somehow, you get the feeling that she enjoys trying to make her point without words.

Again she holds up a single finger, she goes to the jeep and pulls out the cooler containing the refrigerated embryos. With a single claw she taps the side and smiles.

Second finger, she shakes her head in a clear ‘No.’

Third and last finger, she shrugs her shoulders, and points at the cost, then shrugs again.

It seemed that we were getting somewhere so far. So, we were not going to have to swim out to reach the boat. It was apparently docked near the coast, hidden away, most probably from prying eyes of the other team. I frown as I try to understand her signals to me. We are approaching the area in the map and I wanted to make sure that we would not be in any harm's way as we neared.

"Okay, the captain is waiting for us, just off the coast so we will not need to swim to him. The cooler is our ticket to board the ship so there is no need to sneak aboard. And, lastly, we still need to be careful of the other team they may be at the dock waiting for their extraction by their employer as well. So I should avoid taking this route and use another one so that we do not drive by it to attract attention to ourselves."

"How am I doing so far?"

Sirse looks like she may want to add more but stops, and gives you a thumbs up instead. Taking your harm in her hands she pulls herself in close to you nuzzling her head against your side. Satisfied that the end of the journey was finally coming near, Sirse allowed herself one final moment of rest before the hard part began.

All that remained was to make contact with the captain and get off the island in one piece. She hoped Gus would let her do the talking, or at least some of it. From what she recalled in the dossier her employer had sent her the individual who was supposed to be meeting them was a loose association and not someone he fully trusted, why this captain had been chosen she was not sure. It had been a wild, crazy mission, and plenty had gone wrong from the start, but it was nearly done.

There was something nagging at her though, a gut feeling that there remained one last test awaited, one last detail that she had overlooked. Closing her eyes she pushed all that aside. She was safe in this moment, and in that moment she was happy.

Satisfied that I had been able to get enough of her message, I returned my focus to driving along the path she had marked on the map that would lead us to the boat and away from the B-Team. I glanced at her as she leans into me, happy that she was able to relax considering the next part of the journey still had to be accomplished, as our adventure was not yet over. I slowly reached over to allow her easier access to snuggle into me, grateful for the contact and appreciating the closeness and feelings we had developed whilst trying to find the canister. The idea of R&R in my private cabana along the beach was looking all the more attractive as we drove along in comfortable silence, both of us content to enjoy the moment of peace.

But, as the old adage goes, "the calm before the storm..."

Rumbling along SIrse took what time she had left to try and mentally prepare herself, if this mission was going to end well she would need her wits about her. As the rover moved closer to the docs, the sea air become more pronounced causing her to stir and push off from her host’s side.

The docks were located at the base of the island, and off to the right was the side dock, well a pier would be more accurate as it consisted of little more than a wooden planking running out thirty feet into the water. Just wide enough to drive a vehicle down, Sirse frowned as she took in the whole picture. Shipping crates were strewn everywhere, and though the path to the main docks was open there was no way to reach their destination save for on foot.

With a nudge to her lovers elbow she pointed at the shipping crates strewn far below them and then snaked her finger through a twisting motion indicating the path they would have to traverse by foot. Squinting, she looked for the boat, but the light over the water made that a difficult prospect, instead, Sirse gave her lover’s arm a squeeze and motioned him forward.

Nodding my head in silent agreement, I killed the engine and parked the jeep amongst the trees where it wouldn't be easily spotted by unfriendly personnel.  I asked her in sign by indicating that I would go first. If there were any issues, I wanted to make sure she could get away. I stepped from the jeep and crouched low on all fours, waiting for her to give her consent.

Clearly not happy with the arrangement, Sirse squints, holds up one hands and with a huff extends her claws out in a talon like hand, and then points at you. Her meaning she hoped was clear. If you think I am leaving you, I will claw your rump in a heartbeat.

With you on all fours, Sirse crawled from the jeep and jumps onto your back, little claws digging into your thick fur as she moves to position herself just before your shoulder blades. Sliding forwards she wraps her tiny arms around your massive neck, and gives you a light reassuring tap, then pointed down to the docks letting you take the lead.

I make my way down slowly, carefully avoiding any loose boards that may creak and alert our presence to the enemy. Aware that we have a deadline to meet, I hear the captain shouting orders to get ready to push off in a few minutes. As I approach, I notice at least thee shadows along the pier. Sniffing carefully, I can barely make out the smell of ash and pepper. Reviewing the vast amount of trivia that I had gathered over my lifetime, the smell of ash meant that these mammals had blackened their faces so they would not be seen and the pepper was used for two purposes: one to mask their scent; and two, if any mammal took a good whiff, it would cause them to sneeze, alerting these 'ninjas' as they were called in the Asian part of the world.

I tapped my companion's paw and signalled that I sensed three enemies in the shadows, possibly more. We needed a distraction so that I could safely jump onto the boat with Sirse. All I could think of was that Sirse and I were both naked as the day we were born except for a few leaves covering our lower regions in the full moon's light. Then, it hit me. I had seen it done once in a Paw Trek movie but would Sirse agree to it? I back up slowly so that we are out of earshot of the mammals and explain my plan to her. At first, she seems put out that I would even think that it would even work but then I pointed out that she was perfect for it...for all the right reasons this time. Reluctantly, she agreed to it.

-----

Sirse sat on a branch silhouetted against the full moon, seductively posed with a large leaf in her hand covering her naked body. Suddenly, with two fingers in her mouth, she emitted a whistle to call attention to herself. When she did, she stood up and started to sway to a tune she could only hear, performing the 'Dance of the Seven Veils'. As she did, shadows started appearing left and right until a cabal of seven 'ninjas' stood rooted at a spot underneath the branch where she danced, hypnotized and entranced by her sensual enchanting dance.

Hidden in the shadows, covered in mud to mask my scent, I pull on the rope attached to the netting we had found and hidden thereby trapping the ninjas as they swung above the ground. I immediately break from my cover to catch Sirse as she leaped from the branch into my waiting arms as I ran towards the dock. The boat was about to pull away and I had only one chance. As I leaped for the boat, I saw that I had miscalculated and knew we would both fall into the water. With all my strength I toss Sirse safely onto the ship as I fall into the water with a splash.

You and your bright ideas Sirse cursed as she flew through the air, the deck rising up to meet her. Twisting to take the blow on her shoulder she tucked and rolled taking the worst of the impact. Her body rebelled against the sudden strain, and she felt something rip free in her back gain. Even under the bandages it felt as though someone had just driven a hot poker into her spine. Not waiting to figure out how bad the damage was, she threw herself at the boats stern, running over to a coil of rope and the donut shaped life preserver still attached to its side.

The knot securing it the ship came free with a single tug, and throwing her whole body into the motion she heaved the oversized floatation device over the side into the darkening water. Dancing back as the rope began to spin out she was just able to get her paws free as the boat lurched sending her to the hard wooden planks below. Her arm slapped out to try and take some of the blow, but her head still struck the deck with enough force to cause globes of light to dance before her eyes.

As her senses cleared she noticed two things, one, the lurch of the boat one, the boat was beginning to slowly arc back towards the mainland, and two, the captain was no longer at the wheel.

Beneath her, the boat jerked again with the violence of a reef striking the hull. This time it was enough to propel her almost an inch off the deck. The sound of wood splintering only added to her heightened dread, there was only one creature she knew that could inflict such damage, and the fact that it was now in the open water, the same water that Gus was in drover her to her feet.

Scampering over to the side of the boat rail, she grabbed the rope in both her tiny paws and threw a loop around one of the metal ‘T’s built into the side. Silently she screamed out, hoping her would hear her, and pushing with the last vestiges of her will projected an image in her lover mind.

Mosasaur!

Resurfacing as quickly as I could, I looked towards the boat to make sure Sirse had landed safely. Suddenly, I see a life preserver come flying from the side of the boat and figured she had managed to toss it. I quickly swam to it however as soon as I had grabbed it, the boat along with the life preserver lurched unnaturally sideways without warning. I just managed to hang on without losing my grip on the rubber doughnut. I heard Sirse's scream in my mind: Mosasaurus! I quickly looked around and underneath to see if I could spot the vile creature. Although their typical diet was fish, shellfish and squids, I did not want to end up being on it's what-new-thing-can-I-eat-today menu. What I saw, however was something more disturbing. A Pliosaurus had caught itself on one of the mooring lines that had not been properly secured and had fallen into the water. It was what was towing the ship towards back towards the coast and the many reefs along the shore which would then destroy the boat and its passengers. I did see a small Mosasaurus worrying and attacking it. That was causing the larger reptile to panic and seek refuge away from it but it was being hampered by the boat's drag. I quickly dragged myself paw-over-paw along the rope secured to the life preserver till I managed to claw my way onto the boat.

By this time, Sirse was trying to regain control of the boat, fighting inside with the wheel while trying to get the stalled engines back to life. Seeing the shore rush towards us, I quickly made my way to the offending rope and slashed it away before we hit the reefs. Unfortunately, we had too much momentum going and we were seconds away from becoming the newest addition to the island's infrastructure when the engines roared to life and Sirse managed to steer us away towards the open waters of the sea. I just managed to catch myself from falling over once more and by the time I had regained my balance, she had us moving at a swift pace away from the island and back home.

As I entered the pilot room, I spotted a few raincoats and used one of them to cover myself up while the other I brought to my vixen who was standing on a box in order to reach the ship's wheel. I came up behind her, placed the coat over her shoulders and turned her around for a long and well-deserved kiss. After some time, we came up for air and I asked her about the captain and the crew.

Breathless, Sirse’s mind took a few seconds to register the question. Crew? Where were they? A rapid sinking sensation began to fill her, acting as a wet blanket to the passionate kiss that had stirred up her hunger gain. No, now was not a good time, adrenaline fueled passion in close quarters with creatures that wanted nothing more than to eat you was not a good place to make love in.

The crew. Standing on her box she could just barely see over the side of the side of the cabin’s window. The weather was beginning to darken and a storm was rapidly sweeping in from the north. Tropical storms, she hated them for their intense and wild unpredictability, coupled with their tendency to come out over the sea with alarming hast this was a danger she had hoped to avoid. Eyes scanning the darkening horizon a glint caught her eye, a black shape moving off kicking up a spray behind it. Focusing on the movement a bolt of lightning within the looming clouds illuminated the scene in a muted purple light, and in that second she could make out the unmistakable form of a zodiac survival raft with twin engines running all out.

Her mind had only a second to process that bit of information, before her body was in motion. The men on the island must have had radios, they had seen them board their boat! Running all out to tackle Gus, she frantically pulled on his paw drawing him out of the cabin with her. She could feel his confusion and she cursed herself for losing her phone, without it there was no other way to communicate the urgency of the situation.

Throwing her whole body into a frantic pull, Sirse dug her claws into the deck as she tried to pull the being ten times her weight over the side of the boat with her. With a sickening lurch, the deck bucked upwards, accompanied by a resonating, whump. Hot air and splintering wood moved past her, lifting her and her lovers form up through the air as time slowed to  a crawl.

Fire raged over the deck, and even as she careened towards the black surface of the water Sirse knew the boat was a lost cause. This was it, it was going to be a race, and she had lost the – No there it was, rotating in what seemed like lazy circles, was the cooler, their ticket home. She wanted to reach for it, throw out her paws to grab it, but instead her hands dug into the ruffled fur of her being next to her, and held on for her life.

I was unprepared for the impact of the cannon shell as it hit the boat and we were both tossed over the side as it hit, causing the boat to cant over dangerously. I grabbed onto Sirse and curled myself up around her to protect her from the impact of the water. We hit with enough force to stun me.

When I regain consciousness, it appeared that Sirse had managed to get me on my back so that I was floating. She was holding on to my arm, keeping herself submerged and out of sight of the enemy. My darker fur gave us an advantage that we would not be easily seen and I was thinking furiously how to get her out of this mess. Even though I had promised Black that I would protect her, it seemed that the enemy was hell bent on making me a liar.

Suddenly, I noticed the blue cooler bobbing in the waves nearby. Another bold and reckless idea struck me. It seemed that the other team was determined to steal that away from us although I was sure they were not thinking when they shot at us considering their prize could have blown up along with the rest of the boat. Given how easy it had been to fool them back at the tree and their reckless actions, gave rise to a faint hope that what I had planned would have a slight chance for success. It was still better than dying in the sea from hypothermia or being eaten by one of the prehistoric relatives of CS.

I whispered my plan to Sirse and to say that she wasn't happy with me as an understatement. It was going to take some time for my cheek and muzzle to heal from her teeth and claws but it was necessary for the ruse to work. In the end, I was able to sway her over.

I slowly paddle over next to the cooler without making it appear that I had. Sirse continued to hide behind my bulk as the enemy ship approached as I continued to 'play dead'. Once they were near, they shone a spotlight where I was to check on my condition. Upon seeing my bloody face, I heard one of them chuckle and say, "He's done for. Send a crew over to retrieve the cooler. The smaller one must have been blown to bits." With that the spotlight goes dark, hiding from them the fact that Sirse had managed to swim underneath me to climb aboard the ship. It was at this point that the crew of three in a small speedboat reached me. As one of them reached over for it, my paw immediately whipped out to grab his arm and yanked him over the side. The element of surprise being on my side, I manage to clamber aboard before the shocked crew members could react and I slammed both their heads together, pleased by the crunching noise. Tossing the bodies overboard, I quickly take one of their coats and cover myself with it along with a hat to cover my face and make my way back to the ship along with the cooler. As I docked, one of the others called out asking what had happened to the others. Pretending to be one of them, I make a crude comment basically saying that with less members, our share of the reward would now be bigger. As the others laughed, I made my way up the ladder with the cooler under my arm. Reaching the top, I was unprepared for a gun being shoved into my face. I heard one of them say, "So, I guess we can thank you for the idea then, eh?"

From the shadows Sirse watched the exchange. Hired help, low quality too, at first she had thought them working for C.S. But that option had been ruled out at the tree line. No, her employer preferred small teams of highly trained individuals over an army of highly thugs. Ruling that option out there was only one logical candidate left Ingen. With Nerdy failing them, they must have sent another team to retrieve the embryos and not wanting the operation tracked to them, had subcontracted the assignment to someone outside their field.

Of the mammals onboard Sirse could not place any of them from memory, wolves mostly, a few tigers, and a panther or two, just enough to make things interesting. With slow deliberate moves she eased herself from shadow to shadow, careful to not draw attention to herself. She could hear Gus rumbling as he threw the bodies over the side and was shocked that they did not protest, Ingen must have really cut the budget on this one.

The sound of a hammer being pulled back to a cocked position drove the thought from her head. Eyes flashing around she waited, nothing, they had not seen her and that meant… Oh Gus, what had you gotten us into this time?

From the side of the ship she was on, she could just make out a veiled figure holding a gun on Gus and without needing to see his face she could tell he was in charge. Steady hand, cool demeanor, this one was not like the others. Fortunately, he had not seen her yet and that left her options.

Cursing herself for not insisting harder that they make a swim for it and chance the predators as well as the cold, Sirse eased herself to the side of the ship and leveraged herself up to the side of the cabin. The wet wood gave under her feet as she attempted to lift herself, and with a muffled thud her frame impacted the side. Clinging on, she prayed the noise would go unnoticed and listened.
