She works out well. And I find her a fascinating character as well. BTW, you're welcome.

It's one of those things where the suggestion of form is just as moving as detail.

To true, I had a line phase where I would just draw the motion of the spine, arms, and legs. Each piece felt complete as it was, so there was no need to add any cluttering details.

And that's how you know you've got it. When it feels complete!

Did I ever tell you about my first painting?
It was done in acrylics and took me about a week, after which the teacher ripped it from my hands and declared it 'Done.'Β I still have it, and to this day I still feel that it is incomplete.

Then it's not done.Β
Only the artist can determine of the work is complete. Schedules are bullshit.

Still, they have a job to do. The big thing is they know that can't really teach you anything. All they can really do is show you how to teach yourself. It's up to the student to not only remember the material but to be able to use it creatively in whatever field you might be involved in. The biggest thing I remember of my first molecular biology instructor is that he would ask a question about one thing....and then demand that you defend that answer. You not only had to understand the what of the questionΒ but the why as well. Very useful in the field.

I like that teachers style, after my first year I learned about a website the allowed students to rate their professors and indicate why the professor was good or bad. This helped a lot.

The problem with most "Rate My Prof" sites is that it becomes a popularity contest rather than a good evaluation of the teaching styles. I thrivedΒ under the pressure because it forced me to synthesize what I had learned earlier than anyone else.Β

I can see that, for me the biggest issue was: I paid for services, texts, and professor to teach. When these are poor to non existing, well, I can always self educate and do so at a fraction of the price.

Magick205 In reply to Code-Shark [2017-01-18 21:01:12 +0000 UTC]
That is certainly one way to do it. And I'm certainly for it. And really, all a school can do is try to prepare you for the real education that comes on the job. And that's just by trying to get a person to a very basic level of skill.

Yeah, on the job is vey diffrent than school education. I learned that when I got my first accounting internship.

Yep. Same here in my biotech internship. There is a hell of a lot that I do that was not taught in the classroom.

It can be - it is very cutting edge for some things. But there is a lot of repetitive work for the production side of the field.

Thank you, I took several lessons to heart when I threw this one out here. I admit the back and white line art was a bit better, but I did not keep it around.
