‘Nera! Did you use all the hot water?’
Half way through her shower the water had gone cold, forcing her from the booth with suds still stinging her eyes. Trying to clear the lather from her face she wrapped a towel around her midriff and stormed out of the bathroom.

‘Nera?’

She was always using up all the hot water. Something about needing to wash her mane and other excuses. In their last argument Nera had pointed out that it was her apartment that they were living in. Amenii had to concede to that fight to Nera, as she had lost her apartment due to being in a coma for six months. The rend had to be payed after all. And even though Nera had managed to pack up her belongings, she still missed her own place.

Her apartment had not been half the size of what Nera lived in, and by comparison was painfully sparse. But she had grown fond of the complex, the creaking floor, the small water heater, and the neighbors. Hard to forget.

‘Nera?...’ A little apprehensive now, was she stalking her again. She had waned her against doing that after the last incident! ‘Nera, you had better not be hiding somewhere…Anywhere for that matter!’

The front door clicked from around the corner and Nera came striding in with a woefully small towel wrapped around herself.

‘And where have you been?’

‘Oh, just taking out the trash.’

‘Right.’ Amenii scowled up at her lover. ‘In a towel. You know you used up all the hot water. Again.’

‘Yes. Sorry about that. There was a little accident in the bathroom.’ Massaging her chest, she walked away muttering something about sex toys.

Amenii could only shake her head as Nera vanished into their now shared bedroom. She had been acting really weird lately. Well, weirder than her normal self anyways. Without any hot water coming soon, Amenii resigned herself to her fate and returned to the bathroom for a quick cold shower. A very quick shower.
