I have a new concept for Mina and Fraser. Fraser would be the Knight/Consort of Queen Morgana. Mina is the Lady-in-waiting and has caught Fraser’s ever roving eye. The queen is not pleased, sends Fraser away for remedial discipline to The Baron who takes on the task in order to wipe away his debt to her. He traps Fraser into a coin, gives it to his minion to bury in a block of cement and to drop it into the deepest crevasse in the sea. But, by chance, the minion trips just as he is about to purchase the materials needed for the task while in the hardware store, dropping the coin in the process. Gus happens to be nearby and when he picks up the coin, Fraser’s being inadvertently gets transferred into him but gets locked away deep into his subconsciousness. However, when Gus is threatened, Fraser’s battle skills come out in order to protect his host at the same time imbibing him with Fraser’s healing ability.

Mina gets sent away to the island but she manages to track Fraser’s magical energy but can only see Gus. Believing he is Fraser, she focuses on escaping the island in order to be reunited with her lover.

When she does escape, she confronts Gus and Sirse, attacks her but Gus steps in between them. The combination of being caught between two magical spells (both combatants manage to slightly adjust the spells cast when they realize Gus will be the recipient) plus Fraser’s natural healing ability undoes the Baron’s own magical spell, thus separating him from Gus.

That can work as well. I’ve been reworking the story such that the universe I have is actually a catch-all dimension (everyone and everything ends up there; it’s the junk heap of the multi-universe) where once you’re in, it’s very hard for one to leave (unless you have a Universal Inter-dimensional Portal thingy issued out only to the Gatekeepers, of which The Baron was once part of but left due to “irreconcilable differences” with Management).
