Description
A very old comic about leeches, from the comic Bee Leech Grasshopper, not that I expect any of you to remember this as it is that old and I never gave it the love it deserved. Anyways, that cute little guy is my depiction of a Leech.Related content

Lol! Direct absorption of knowledge, I wish it worked this way, I would have gladly eaten my calculus text book if it meant I could retain the knowledge within.Β

LOL! Reminds me of the opening of this old kid's show about books.
Where a claymation monster sings a song about how he loves to eat books as he does so he slowly turns into a human child.

Sad shows like that don't exist anymore.

Truly, then there was Gumby - I only got to see maybe half an episode, but I still remember it. Β

I think I was afraid of Gumby as a kid.

Lol! Really, I was horrified by the Twinkies mascot that would walk around in the store.

I remember my parents telling me about this time I was about two or threeΒ at a local grocery store, there was a person dressed up like an Oreo, giving away free samples and I about peeded myself when I saw the mascot.Β

Even though it's about a leech, it honestly sounds like me.

Really now? The leech is just a stand in for people, and I don't mean that in a bad way. Leeches can be clever, cunning, ruthless, and driven. All good qualities.

Ah, this is how i depict leeches. Giving it arms makes it that much easier to show emotions and feelings with.
It would be hard to show something with only a body and mouth. :@

Thank you, this was one of the few comics I did with traditional pen and ink.

I used to love to do calligraphy. Just the stroke of brush on paper...the pureness of the line or character being expressed. - sigh -Β
I think that maybe, in a previous life, I might have been a monk, who spent an entire lifetime, happy as a clam, illuminating books.

I know that feeling, for Christmas I was gifted a calligraphy set and had spent many a happy hour practicing.
Past life, you too.
I have been told more often than not, that I was born in the wrong century, to this I have taken to joke back that, No, I've just been temporally displaced from My century. I suspect I was a ship's captain, most likely a privateer, as I have a greatest love for the sail ships, their hulls, the canvas, the feel of it moving under foot.
Books for you, and sails for me. Funny how we can look back at these grand times.

Son of a son of a sailor? I love the water tooΒ and have always wanted to learn to sail. Even priced out some small racing skiffs like a Laser for a local lake. Be a nice repair job for them. I can work composites like some people do clay. It's more about using old tech and getting things done for me. People just seem to be too involved with tech for tech's sake rather than seeing it as a tool for living.Β

I am the same way, but with wood. I can do a fair job with composite materials, but not near as well as I am when working with wood.
Yeah, mostly its tec for the sake of owning tec.
Romero and Juliette?

Well, that's what I was asking. Romero sounds much like Oscar Romero, the director of the classic Night of the Living Dead.

Ha! The one, the same. I got mine because I liked to work on older aircraft. At this rate I half suspect your going to tell me you got pulled into a time loop and have been living in the past trying to avoid running into your future self. I used to work out of Evert's Air cargo before I finally decided that freezing my fingers off was not quite worth the paycheck.Β

Got tired of having a body cavity check after 9/11 by a bunch of idiots who didn't realize the need or uses of half my tools and that I could do far more harm and endanger passengers with a pen to an aircraft than a leatherman.
