‘You’re so cute, I could just eat you up in three bites.’
‘No you wouldn’t.’ The bunny in Nera’s arms smiled back at her, the former rubbing her tiny cheek against the hyena’s own. ‘My mother would have a fit if you tired.’

‘Well, be grateful you have such a ferocious mother then.’ Nera laughed, giving her little lover a jostle in her hand.

She was such a small thing by comparison to the herself, Nera could easily support her in a single hand without effort. Their size differences were already drawing mixed attention as she carried her bunny through the park, some surprised, others horrified, and a few whispers who were convinced she was carrying lunch around. The later made her smile, and had even suggested to Amenii that they could put on a show for the couple. Amenii, being the voice of reason has shot that one down.

‘Are all predators so orally fixated?’ She had asked pushing Nera’s grinning mouth away as the hyena nipped at her neck and shoulder. ‘Or just spotted beasts with flowing dreadlocks.’

‘Oh, you like them?’ Nera’s free hand stroked her curls, she and spent the better part of the morning tying her flowing curls back into sausages. It was a pleasant change though she still debated if she was going to keep them like that. ‘And I happen to know a certain panther who we can ask.’

‘You two are just as bad as the other!’ Amenii exclaimed, trying again to push away Nera’s playful kisses, though this time only halfheartedly. ‘What are people going to think?’

‘Their going to think what their going to think.’ Nera mused, giving her bunny’s booty a squeeze with her massive paw and eliciting a squeak of surprise from her smaller lover. ‘Let them.’

Shaking her head, Amenii’s green eyes moved up to meet the hyena’s own.

‘I swear, you’re going to be the death of me.’ Amenii’s hands moved to hug Nera’s muzzle, as she pressed her cheek close to her lover. ‘One of these days someone is going to say you went to far, and then you’re going to be in real trouble – and where will that leave me?’

‘Trouble? Ha!’ Nera scoffed, her smile broadening as she felt Amenii’s small fingers move to hug her muzzle. ‘It’s your mother who is going to be the end of me!’

‘That’s only because you torment her so!’ Amenii exclaimed pulling away. ‘This year will you at least try and behave? She’s still not convinced that your Christmas card was nothing more than a bad joke.’

‘Her loss.’ Nera muttered, prompting a light smack from her bunny. ‘Hey, if you wanted to walk the rest of the way you could have just said something.’

Small arms closed around her muzzle again, as Amenii pressed a single finger to Nera’s lips.

‘No, I like it when you carry me – I get to see more than your hips up here.’

Laughing, Nera gave her head a little shake and continued down the park trail, her smile never faltering.
