Even with all that fur, she still managed to burn. Tomorrow is going be a very bad day.
The sunburn had crept up on her, and what had started as a tingling sensation at the base of her ears had turned to a slow throb. Without thought, she had disregarded it slipping her head beneath the surface to wet her fur and keep the worst of the heat at bay. It was only when the pulsating throb moved down into her back did Amenii realize what had happened.
I got to go visit a coastal state recently, and decided I was going to go for a swim in the ocean. Even with sun block I burnt my shoulders and back so bad, that putting on my uniform was agony. The others I was with, took great glee in giving back slaps. I promised them each a very slow and painful death, the second they went to sleep.

I assume she is very light colored. Some light colored animals CAN and DO get sunburned very easily. I once saw on this documentary about baby animals born at an Australian zoo, the zookeepers and veterinarians had to put sun screen on the piglets to keep them from getting sunburned. My mother has a chihuahua and is always advised by the vet to put sunscreen on the tips of her ears if she has to stay outside for long in the summer. Β Β
I got sunburned once at summer camp...it wasn't so bad until the dance and this boy wanted to do a waltz with me. Β And another time when my family went camping. It was so bad my nose turned "purple" and my stupid brothers kept teasing me.
