Covered in sweat, Amenii curled the still damp blankets around herself, despite the nurse’s protest.
‘You need to bath!’ The fox added curtly, trying hard not to hold his nose. ‘Your sheets are socked through to the mattress, and your fur is a mess.’
‘No, no.’ Amenii replied hastily. ‘I’m fine, just fine.’
Scoffing the nurse, refused to give in so easily.
‘Madam. You have just overcome a great ordeal. I understand your hesitation, but please. This is for your own good.’ Withdrawing from a sealed package he placed a change of undergarments on the bed beside her before he withdrew. ‘Please.’
He was not going to relent, of this Amenii was sure. With a weary sigh, she slipped on the change of clothes and braced herself. She had just begun to pull on her shirt.
‘Good God!’ The Nurse stared at her with horror.
Ruefully Amenii pulled down the top of her gowned and said nothing.

Rule number twenty seven: Never be predictable.
The setting, Amenii has been checked into the recovery ward following a C-section. She has been cleared for basic physical activity, but is not permitted to leave the grounds.
Currently she has yet to give her statement to the police.
And is currently bathing, before being transferred to one of the hydrotherapy spas.

The wolf who had saved her was acting as her guard for the time. She was a Mexican wolf, smaller in stature than her fellow wolves, and was a more youthful sort, fresh out of the academy. After the experience that the rabbit had, she was quick to volunteer to be the rabbit's guard for the time.

Amenii exited the shower, the hot water had carried what was left of the sweat and grim built up from the last few days away, along with the smell. Slipping into some fresh linens, she made to leave the stalls.
Deep in thought, her hands running over the incision that ran the length of her body. Old memories swirled around her as thick as the showers steam. It had taken thirty five stitches to pull her back together. Her hand brushed against a sore spot and she winced in pain, a horrible memory of her captivity flashed before her.
Yellow eyes and ivory teeth, his hand clamped over her mouth as he leveraged his body over hers. 'You ever been raped?' he had whispered into her ear, a twisted gesture that had sickened her stomach.
As soon as it had come, it was gone again.
Not wanting to stay in the shower any longer she bolted for the door, swinging it open ran face first into a wall of fur.
Looking up, she almost screamed, the eyes of a predator looked back at her.

The wolf herself jumped herself, feeling the Rabbit run into her. She would shoot a look to the source, one of surprise, and then she let out a sigh, "Whoo...you startled me there! Are you ready to move on?"
The wolf herself had thick fur, mostly black, though a spotted pattern of various greys and a bit of white. On the top of her head, she had somewhat of a side mohawk with purple highlights.

It took a moment to register: not the same wolf. Forcing her heart to stop racing, Amenii tried to stop the shiver that ran down her spine.
Not. The. Same. Her captor had been white, pure white with cold eyes.
Struggling Amenii tried to remwmber the wolfs name... the past few days were all a blur.
'Y-yes' she managed to stammer, only able to meet the she wolfs gaze for a second.

She would smile, and motioned her to follow, "C'mon chica, don't wanna be late."
The wolf seemed to always be in a chipper mood, now was no different... however, as a rhino passed, she visibly flinched, and her eyes widened. She seemed to regain her composure, putting her paw to her chest.

Amenii eyed the rhinoceros as it lumbered by, it's massive size enought to dwarf even her protector.
The idea still felt strange, and she suspected Yarro had something to do with the assignment.
'Late? Where are we going?' She asked hesitantly. Trying to catch a glimpse of the wolf's name tag.
Why had she flinched?
Carefully Amenii shot a look at the retreating mammal behind her.

The wolf's tag was finally seen, as she stood back up straight, reading Ebony De'Leon. She would shake her head a little, "Wha, oh yeah... statement, sorry! They wanted you to deliver your statement to the ZPD after the shower."
Ebony had regained her composure fully now, and continued to lead the bunny.

'My statement...right.' the idea was none to appealing to her.
The questions would be the same. 'Please describe the events leading up to your rescue. What was the nature of your captor? How long were you held in captivity?'
Amenii began to shake as the past seven months threatened to overwhelm her.
Suddenly she wanted to be anywhere but the ZPD and cursed herself for not lingering in the shower.
Tugging on Ebony's sleeve she looked up at her pleasingly, 'I don't want to go.' She whispered.

She would notice the rabbit's tugging and looked down at her.
Hearing what Amenii said, coupled with the look she gave, the wolf quickly caved, "Fine... but we gotta come up with something else."

Tell them I- I had a relapse...'Amenii's mind raced. It was likely that Lt. Yaro would work here case, something Amenii dreaded. The panther had taken an immediate dislike to her and was not afraid to be vocal about his thoughts. 'Stall them...please?'
Amenii knew she was stirring up trouble, she just hoped it wasn't an avalanche that would bury her and her assigned guardian.

"Okay, okay...," Ebony reassured looking back towards the direction they had been going, and then back at her, "I'll try, but no promises..."

Trying to smile, and managing something that looked more like a twisted grimace Amenii mouthed her thanks.

She nodded, and made her way toward the office where the interviewer was waiting, giving her a thumbs up.

Staying close behind Ebony, as though willing herself to become one with the wolfs fur, and remain invisible to the world.
With a pang of regret, she wished Nera were her with her, someone to hold her, tell her she was going to be okay. Nera, the though sobered her, Nera would never let someone cower, never back down, never...
Pulling herself away, Amenii straitened her spine, and spoke with as much courage as she could muster:
'Officer De'Leon. I've changed m-my mind. Lets get this done with.'

She looked back, and she sighed, with a slight chuckle, "Geez... never thought rabbits were so flip floppy..."
Ebony would then move out of the way to allow Amenii to enter, "I'll wait out here..."

Walking with a stiff back, Amenii entered to room, gave Ebony one last look for encouragement, then closed the door behind her.
'Hello?'

An elephant in an ZPD uniform was there at the desk, pet at the ready. "Hello Amenii, are you ready to give your statement?"

Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Amenii recanted her story, leaving out no detail, save for her personal feelings during the event.
She had held out hope that the ZPD would come for her
Her captor had slowly crushed that hope out of her. And after a failed escape attempt followed by the beating of her lifetime Amenii had resigned herself to her fate.

She would be quick to jot down notes, ask questions, and listen rather intently. Then, the elephant would wait for her to recount more of the rabbit's tragic tale.

Amenii chocked, the officer was asking to much of her.
She had already given the general details of her imprisonment, as well as anything she thought would be relivent to the case.
Now they wanted more?
Against her will painfully fresh memories bubbled to the surface.
How the wolf had held her down, pinning her against the floor. His fangs nipping into her neck, while is claws raked her body.
Her hands began to shake, clasping them tightly she tried to hold herself together.
'Your friends have abandoned you.' He whispered into her ear, his massive paw rubbing her swollen belly. 'You've been forgotten, and without me... you will not survive' his claws springing out to drag over her stomach.
It was morw than Amenii could handle, the emotions were to fresh. She could still smell his sent. It still clung to her even after the shower.
'I- I...' Amenii shot a look at the door, she wanted out.'I don't have an- anything to add.'

The elephant nodded, "You may go Amenii... I apologize if any emotions were stirred, but we just needed every little detail."
The elephant got up to leave, confirming that the rabbit could do the same.

Amenii couldn't bring herself to respond, instead she practically fell off the oversized chair and marched to the door. Her face gaunt and eyes distant.
Pushing the door open she exited into the hallway.

Ebony would watch her... and she kept her distance. She could tell that Amenii wasn't in the best of spirits, eventually following after.

Amenii made it several more paces before sinking to the ground, planing her back against the wall she curled her knees up to her chest. The pain of reliving the events of the last seven months had left her raw and drained.
Trying to bury those memories deep she took several breaths, settling her head onto her knees.

Ebony would sit nearby, just sitting there. "So... you want me to call anyone who could help you outta this slump?," she asked the rabbit, with a look of genuine concern.

Blinking, she heard words but could not put them together. 'What?' she said, looking to the speaker and almost screamed. For a brief second He was there again, sitting next to her with that predatory hunger in his eyes. The vision faded as fast as it had come, Ebony, her body guard, sat next to her, a look of concern on her face.
'I...Yes. Please. Please, understand, I - Need time.' Her hands went to her belly, tracing the scar. 'So much has changed. I, need to...'
She didn't know what was going to solve this problem.
But she knew someone who would.
Nera always knew.
'C- Can you take me to her- Nera I mean?'

Amenii recites off the number from memory, taking her time to carefully pronounce each number.
The exercise drained her, but she had one question that still burned in her mind, something she had to know. Turning to look Ebony in the eyes, she swallowed.
'Did you ever find Him?'

"He was on the bed, coked outta his mind," she said as she dialed the numbers, before putting her phone too her ear, "He's in critical condition, and considering the evidence against him... we believe he's set to go straight to the slammer for a LONG time..."

Amenii had seen that before, after taking her he loved to inhale the powders and collapse murmuring to himself with glee.
She would be lying to herself that she wished he had not been shot. The idea that he was still among the living sickened her. 'A long time...' she repeated. 'Not long enough.'

Her guardian seemed to be busy talking on the phone. After five minutes, she put it down... only to recieve a text, to which her eye brows went up, and let out a sharp whistle.
