Covered in sweat, Amenii curled the still damp blankets around herself, despite the nurse’s protest.
‘You need to bath!’ The fox added curtly, trying hard not to hold his nose. ‘Your sheets are socked through to the mattress, and your fur is a mess.’
‘No, no.’ Amenii replied hastily. ‘I’m fine, just fine.’
Scoffing the nurse, refused to give in so easily.
‘Madam. You have just overcome a great ordeal. I understand your hesitation, but please. This is for your own good.’ Withdrawing from a sealed package he placed a change of undergarments on the bed beside her before he withdrew. ‘Please.’
He was not going to relent, of this Amenii was sure. With a weary sigh, she slipped on the change of clothes and braced herself. She had just begun to pull on her shirt.
‘Good God!’ The Nurse stared at her with horror.
Ruefully Amenii pulled down the top of her gowned and said nothing.

Puzzled, Amenii looks up. 'Is that a good thing?'

Ebony shrugged a bit, "It looks like they managed to link him to some big cases... might be on his way to the block..."
She would put her phone away, then looked to Amenii, "She's on her way. We should go too your room, told her we'd meet her there."

Sighing with relief Amenii let the building apprehension drop. 'Let him rot.' she murmured under her breath, her hands going to her belly.
'Thank you.' She added, looking up at Ebony, 'Can you...' Amenii extended her hand, it was difficult to rise still, and she felt dizzy when she tried.

Ebony smiled and took her hand, helping up the rabbit, and headed back to Amenii's room, helping the rabbit on the way.

Hobbling along, Amenii looked up at the wolf next to her. 'Why did you volunteer, to protect me I mean.'
The question had been gnawing at her sense she had laid eyes on the wolf, she had just lacked the nerve to ask up until now.

She walked slowly, letting the rabbit keep pac, somewhat sighing, "Well... you were the first call I've ever had... and just got in a week ago from graduation... figured I should see it through."
Ebony then rubbed the back of her neck, "Plus it's easier to interact with smaller folks... don't get panic attacks from being around you... just bigger folk. I don't really like telling this info... but they scare the crap outta me."

Amenii blinks up ar Ebony in disbelief, 'you, you get afraid of people? - But, but, your huge!'
Flushing at her outburst she stammers to correct herself. 'Ah, I-I mean...' she gestures down at her tiny form, and looks back up at Ebony.

Ebony would chuckle, "My breed is the smallest of all the wolves, and I'm the runt of my litter!"
She would eventually cool down with her laughter, before a more somber look grew upon her face, and let out a sigh, "But... I've had bad run ins with bigger folk when I was young... picked on, and even tortured. Where I come from you gotta be quick, or strong..."

Amenii snapped to attention, her body suddenly ridged as she regarded Ebony in a new light. 'Tortured...' She whispered. She would not have guessed from the wolfs demeanor. How bad had it been? What had happened? And how did she still manage to hold her head high? A thousand questions assaulted her mind in as matter of seconds.
On reflex, she threw her arms around Ebony and held her tight, she didn't know why, but it felt right.

The wolf jumped a bit, and looked down to the rabbit hugging her. She would somewhat smile, and pat her back, "Gracias amiga..."

Face still pressed into Ebony's fur, 'I don't speak volf...' her muffled voice carries through the fur.

Ebony chuckled a bit, and accepted the hug, "C'mon... lets get you too your room."

Still leaning on her, Amenii allowed the wolf to direct her back to her bed.
She made no protests.

The wolf said nothing else, until they made their way in.
"You need some help into bed chica?," she asked looking down to the rabbit.

Looking up at the bed before her, it may as well have been a mountain. 'Please.' Amenii extended her arms up, feeling all the world like a child. 'Just please, mind the side.'

Ebony hefted her as much as she could into the bed, managing to get her into the middle of it, while still being careful of the rather large wound.

While being lifted Amenii lets out several small squeaks, but tries to keep her face a mask, not wanting to hurt Ebony's feelings.
Settling in the bed, she pulls the covers up and over herself. 'Thank you, for everything.' She smiles up at the wolf.

The wolf nodded, "De nada."
Ebony would move and looked towards the door, her ear flicking.

It was a subtle jesture, one that she would have probably overlooked in the past.
Now it caused her to tense, her eyes flicked to the door as though it were a predator stalking her.

"I hear some nails...," she said, her ear flicking a bit more, "Think that might be your novia?"

'N-Nera...' Amenii whispered, though Nera had claws on her massive pads, she had a sinking feeling that this was not the hyena she knew. The foot falls were...off. 'Ebony...'
Tugging the covers up to her chin her look becoming one of terrible fear.

The wolf narrowed her eyes as she watched the door, slightly growling.

Amenii tensed, she wanted to run, to hide, suddenly to be anywhere but in this room. Her heart raced, she wanted to run, but knew that there was little distance she could go. Her Guardian stood before her, a menacing growl prickling her throat.
Would she be enough? What would happen if she was overpowered?
Unbidden the worst case scenario filled her mind: He had escaped.
And now He had come for her.

The owner passed by, and it just seemed to be a polar bear with a gimp in his step.
The wolf, seemed to be slightly quaking where she stood, though she composed herself eventually.

Amenii was glad to see she was not the only one on edge. Yet she still found it strange to see a predator, a wolf even, show fear.
Nera never seemed to be afraid, and if she were, she would turn her fear to anger. Amenii had wished she could do that.
'Is he gone?' She asked quietly, eyeing the door.

The wolf let out a sigh, and nodded, looking back at Amenii. She would eventually take a seat, and wait for Nera.

The whole ordeal had taken the energy out of her, leaning back she let out a deep breath. The bed was soft and inviting. It reminded her of home, Nera's home.
'Where do you live?' She asked on a whim.

The wolf looked up to Amenii, smiling, "Well I live in Sahara Square... it's the one area that reminds me of home you know?"

Looking the wolf over once more, she had thought that she would be more comfortable in tundra town.
'Isn't it hot, with all that fur I mean?'

She shook her head, "Nah. Just because I have fur doesn't mean it's that hot amiga!"

Amenii blushes at that, Nera always complained viciously of the heat. It was a surprise to her that Ebony did not swelter during the 'dog days' of summer.
'I grew up in a desert region, at lest most of my childhood anyways. It was always hot there.' Amenii sat up in her bed, absently wrapping her arms around her knees. 'It was a different kind of heat.'
'You must have had a similar upbringing I bet?'

She chuckled a bit, "Of course... It sucked amiga..."
The wolf would proceed to stand up, "My town's problems weren't limited to the type of area though... but I'll tell yah that another day."

Amenii relaxes her hold on the blankets, her curiosity quipped, not wanting to pry though she lets it go. Nera would be here soon, or should be.
'Be-before, I, I wanted to say, thank you.' She looked the wolf directly in the eyes. 'Thank you for all your help.'

Ebony's brows rose, and she looked towards Amenii with a somewhat surprised expression, before giving her a warm smile, "It was my pleasure amiga..."
The wolf would sit back into the chair and chuckled, "After yah get outta here, wanna get a bite?"

Allowing herself to relax, 'I would like that, I would like that a lot.'

She would put her paws behind her head, and await the Hyena's arrival, eventually finding herself dozing off.

Amenii did not recall falling asleep, though she must have dozed as the next sound that reached her ears was the soft metalic click from the door.
She knew who it was before the door even opened as a familiar sent reached her nose.
'Nera!' She blurted without thinking.

The wolf practically rocketed out of her seat and fell to the floor. She rubbed her head as she pulled herself into a sitting position.

Amenii felt a little ashamed, s'sorry.' She managed to stammer before the hyena was on her. Wrapping her in massive arms.

The little wolf regained herself, patting herself down as she got up. She would proceed to look towards Neera, who didn't completely dwarf her and chuckled. Ebony waited for the lover's embrace to be over, before she would say anything.

As though noticing her for the first time, Nera broke off her smothering embrace. Her deep green eyes glittered as the swept over the wolf, her face undecided of the person who stood before her.
It was Amenii's voice that broke the taught silence. 'Nera, this is Officer Ebony, of the ZPD, and my personal body guard.'

The wolf smiled, and stood upright, offering a paw in a respectful manner, "Ebony De'Leon!"

The tension that reflected in Nera's shoulders, faded. Warmly she grasped Ebony's hand with her own. 'Nera Saffii, it is a pleasure.'
Adding thoughtfully, 'Your name is, familiar. But I don't think I've met you before.'

The wolf somewhat chuckled, "Eh, probably from a gang I used to roll with when I was young..."
She would scratch the back of her head, "And the pleasure is mine!"

At that, Nera's eyes arched. 'You ran with a gang?'
As subtly as she could she shifts to stand between Amenii and this new wolf.

"Yeah... it wasn't for me though...," she said, not noticing her movements, "I never really had the heart tah do what they did, and decided to join the force instead... do good instead of damage."
Ebony would chuckle, "I'm not really well liked by my older brother anymore!"

Nera smiled, her gaze still betraying a little suspicion. Turning, she looked to Amenii, who gave a small nod of approval.
'She's been helping me ever sense the...the...'
Wordlessly Nera placed a hand on Amenii's shoulder and gave a squeeze.

Ebony looked back, smiling, "What can I say? I take my job seriously and... other than you she's one of the only folks I can hang around comfortably... plus she's pretty good conversation!"

That brought a smile to Amenii’s face,
'Thank you.' She managed with a blush. 'Oh, Nera, Ebony and I had hopes for dinner.'
'Tonight?' Nera's brows vanished into the fluff of hair above her.
'N-no not tonight, but maybe this weekend?'
Amenii looked from Nera to Ebony hopefully.

Ebony in the meantime had been looking to Nera expectantly, rather hopeful of taking new acquaintances out to dinner.
