Covered in sweat, Amenii curled the still damp blankets around herself, despite the nurse’s protest.
‘You need to bath!’ The fox added curtly, trying hard not to hold his nose. ‘Your sheets are socked through to the mattress, and your fur is a mess.’
‘No, no.’ Amenii replied hastily. ‘I’m fine, just fine.’
Scoffing the nurse, refused to give in so easily.
‘Madam. You have just overcome a great ordeal. I understand your hesitation, but please. This is for your own good.’ Withdrawing from a sealed package he placed a change of undergarments on the bed beside her before he withdrew. ‘Please.’
He was not going to relent, of this Amenii was sure. With a weary sigh, she slipped on the change of clothes and braced herself. She had just begun to pull on her shirt.
‘Good God!’ The Nurse stared at her with horror.
Ruefully Amenii pulled down the top of her gowned and said nothing.

Nera caught the glance, turning to Amenii. 'Are you feeling well enough to travel, or would you like another night?'
Amenii debated, her side still ached terribly, that and she could see that Ebony clearly wanted to go out. Maybe just one more night.
'I, I'm fine, maybe just come by in the morning for me?'
'I'll be there.' Leaning over the bed to plant a kiss on her bunny she ruffled her hair. 'Don't go anywere.'

The little wolf smiled, "I'll make sure she stays here for you!"
With pride in her smile, she would give a salute.

That brought a smile to Nera's face and Amenii flushed.
Smiling Nera stalked accross the room and slipped an arm around the small wolf. 'I don't think she'll be running away anytime soon.'
Amenii reddened even further and looked as though she wanted to become one with the bed.
With a gentle push to the small of Ebony's back Nera made to guide her to the door.

Ebony, a bit confused at first, realized what was going on and nodded, making her way out to leave the two alone.

With a nod of approval Nera whispered, 'This will just be a moment.'
Closing the door behind her, she returned to Amenii’s bed side.
'We need to talk.'
Serveral long minutes elapsed before the door opened again. Nera emerged, looking shaken and rubbing at her eyes.
'Sorry office...officer Ebony, yes?'

"Si... told you the story huh?," she asked knowing the answer already, "It's a tough story to even recount let alone hear."
She seemed to be more than prepared, offering her a cup of water, "Here. This'll help a bit."

Her hands trembled as she grasped the cup, 'Its not right.' Nera shook her head.
'I thought the worst when she went missing.' Her eyes were locked on the cup. 'Now that she is back...there's just, so much to take in.'

She let out a sigh, "She's damn strong... not to mention she's made a rebound."
Ebony swirled her cup around, "She was dead afraid of wolves after the ordeal... but now... well yah saw..."

Nera attempted to smile,'She's so damn strong willed, she hides it well, but the signs are there.' Looking into her cup, gave a casual swirl of the glasses contents. 'Something broke inside her, I just hope that she has the strength to put herself back together.'
Her gaze raised to meet Ebony's. 'Are you willing to commit to that?'

Ebony would nod, "Probably need to introduce her to more wolves, one at a time so she can trust us as a whole again... but for now I think it's just good to be around people she can trust, and one she trusts and loves."
The little wolf would nudge Nera at the last part, ensuring she knew she was referring to the hyena.

The idea of exposing Amenii to a pack wof wolves did not sit well with her. She could see Amenii havimg a heart attack in their midst.
'Maybe, one, two tops.' She eyed Ebony curiously, 'Do you have anyone, special to you?'

"... well... I'm kinda in the single department, " she said, taking a sip of her water, "And what did you think I meant? One wolf at a time."

Nera took a sip of her water to cover her surprise. 'I'm just a little surprised that a beauty like you haven't found someone yet. I was going to suggest a double date...but that's okay.'

She would chuckle, "Eh... I'm not the most socially capable.. despite my good looks."

'Amenii seems to like you.' Her hands moved to embrace the cup she held. 'You played a major part in her rescue, or so Amenii says.'

"I was the one who found her in that bastard's den, and carried her out...," she said looking up at her and smiling.

Nera smiled, 'Thank you. I wish I could give you more than my thanks.'
No sooner had the words came out than a shadow crossed her face.
'Near the end, she, Amenii, she was very distressed, she was vague about your rescue... could, no, would you..
I want to know.'

"I'm not sure what it was that he did... but all I know was that I found her lying on the floor, crying out in pain as the baby was coming," she recalled, crossing her arms, "I remember gently picking her up and getting her out in a timely manner and into an ambulance... from there we rushed to hospital and they got her in ER..."

Nera nodded solemnly, 'I heard stories. She came in ready to burst, she ripped when she went into labor. That she had given birth to no less than five kits, or wolves. There were so many stories.'
Setting her cup down, Nera closed the space, and embraced the small wolf.
'Thank you for bringing her home.'

"... I don't suppose you want to see them?," she asked the Hyena, "I wouldn't dare ask Amenii... but I think it would be good to see them for yourself..."

She nodded and motioned her to follow. Eventually they would come to the maternity ward, and came upon Amenii's half rabbit half wolf kits... there was three in all, two males one female.

Nera gasped as she looked upon the little balls of fluff.
The two boys, took after their father, wolfish in appearance and with snow white fur. Their tiny forms wrapped around each other.
The third, small and light, looked identical to her mother.
'Their beautiful.' Nera managed, looking down at them. Her face a mixture of emotions.

"I know its tough...," she said crossing her arms, "You hate how they came about but they're too innocent to hold any grudge towards..."
She sighed, "It's up to Amenii as to whether she'll keep or put them up for adoption... I just hope she gets to see them official before then..."

Nera dropped her head, her ears flat and sad. When she spoke her voice was barely a whisper.
'If they were yours, could you love them? Hold them in your arms, let them suckle at your breast. All the while looking at the eyes of the monster that raped you...'
Tears welled at the corners of her eyes as she looked the them. So small.

Numb Nera nodded, placed a hand on the glass, apparently deep in thought.
'She never mentioned her childhood, did she?' Casting a said ward glance at Ebony she continued before a reply could be given. 'Amenii had a very, troubled, relationship with her mother.'
Her eyes returned to the three balls of life on the other side of the wall.
'They never got along in her youth, and she ended up running away. Her mother...her mother frowned upon her choice of relationships.'
As though in a daze, she looked unblinking at them.
'Did you notice her hands, always drawn to her belly.'

The wolf would scratch her chin, "What happened?"

Nera's smile was a bitter one. 'Her mother tried to send her away, after, after she found Amenii in bed with another girl. A fox, if you choose to belive it.'
She was silent for a long pause. 'She ran away soon after, even changed her name to Oakwoods.'
Looking Ebony im the eyes, 'I think she's afraid of becoming loke her mother. '

"... Well I don't that there's any need to fear that happening...," she said, smiling up at Nera, "So long as she has you, I think she'll be a fine momma..."

'I hope so.' Nera murmured, then turned her gaze to the little ones, then to the door further down the hall. 'Do you think I- we, could hold them?'

Nera's gaze scanned the hall, finding none in immediate view, she walked to the door and tested it. Locked.
'Do me a favor, help me find a nurse.'

She nodded and went off to find a nurse, and several minutes later she came back, though a bit on edge as she guided the nurse to Nera, whom was rather... tall.

Nera's smile was polite, but carried an edge of authority none to masked. 'Turning to the nurse, she spoke calmly, 'Will you please open the door.'

Ebony would straighten herself out, "She's Amenii's girlfriend..."

Nera managed a troubled smile, she at Amenii's request had tried to downplay that they were together.
Shrugging, she made an encompassing gesture. 'Not mine I'm afraid, not by blood anyways. Their biological mother is...resting in the recovery wing still.'

Ebony gave the nurse a zipping motion across the lips, and she nodded, knowing to keep this information to herself. Foretunately, she didn't seem the type to betray one's trust.
She opened the door and guided them to the three, before leaving them, trusting of them as well. When she was out of the door, Ebony let out a long trembling sigh, loosening her composure.

Relief flooded Nera's expression, 'Well that was easier than I had thought.' She muttered under her breath.
A bit concerned for Ebony she placed a hand on her shoulder, giving her a tight squeeze.
'You okay?'

She nodded, "Just got anxiety around bigger folk... Anyway, lets see the pups."
Ebony would walk up to the wolf pups.

Silently Nera wondered if Amenii ever felt the same way. Loging that thought for the future, she approached the small bundles of life.
'They are so tiny...' she mused, reaching into the crib and running the back of her finger against the cheek of the bunny.
'This one has a lot of her mother on her.'

She nods, looking at the rabbit, and then blinks, "Aren't they supposed to be smaller?"
Now that she had mentioned it... the newborn was larger than the normal newborn kitten.

Ebony had the just of it, now that she studied them, they looked the size of a three month child already.
A frown tugged at Nera's face. 'They cant be more than a day or so old..'
'And Amenii has not seen them yet?'

"I don't think she has...," she said with a sigh, "buuut... at least the little fellas aren't all that big... heck they're about my size when I was pequeño."

Never having seen a wolf pup up close before, Nera could only nod. The thought of all three of the not so little balls of fluff residing in Amenii’s belly a little disquieting.
'You said you had siblings, were they your size too?'
The second crib bearing the twins beconed, and Nera walked over to get a better view of the two within.

She shook her head, "I was the runt... so nah."
Ebony would walk over to the hand sanitizer before coming back and carefully picking up the bundled twins, smiling a bit, "They are a bit cuter than I was though..."

Eyeing the hand sanitizer, Nera felt a pang of guilt, walked over to the dispenser and rubbed the gel into her hands before returning to the crib.
'They are...' Nera mused, walking over to the single bunny and drawing her up into her arms.
'Would you...nah...'
