'I think we should go visit your mother.' She spoke in a soft whisper, cast a glance at Ebony seeing if shw would follow, and began walking to the door.

She nodded, following after. The little wolves would yawn, and cause Ebony to grin.

They were cute, she hoped that Amenii would think the same as she carried her little bundle to the room where Amenii rested. She cast an uneasy look at the door, and drew in a deep breath.

'Are you ready?'

The small wolf nodded, and ensured she had the newborns secure in her arms.

The door seemed larger than she remembered, Nera drew in a deep breath and pushed the door open.

Amenii stirred, she had been dozing, and had apparently not expected Nera to return. It pained her, to do what she was about to do to Amenii.
 
'Nera...I thought...'

Without speaking Nera crossed the room, and placed the small bundle into the crook of Amenii's arm and motioned for Ebony to do the same.

Amenii stared, transfixed at the bundles now pressed into her arms.

There was a long pause in which Nera's dread only grew, coiling around her chest. Then it happened, Amenii's face broke, twisting into something of pain and anguish. The howl that came bubbling up from within her carried with it a feral note, like a beast crying out in great pain. Her head flew back, burring it back first into the pillows as she began to shake.

After the breath ran out of her, she began to shake. Tears ran down her face in fresh rivers, as her hands clawed at the sides of the bed.

The terrible noise, was enough to awake the small pups by Amenii's sides, who in turn joined their voices to their mother's cries. Their small voices rising in high pitches that reverberated through the room.

Their voices growing in shrill whimpers slowly drowned out Amenii's cries, and then she was quiet. It took a few chocked gasps, but she subsided, her eyes focused on the small terrified balls of fluff around her. Hands shaking she reached out to one of them, gently touching touching it. Her eyes were still streaming, as she drew them to her body. Pressing their small forms to her chest.

Oh so quietly she began making soothing noises, penetrated by twisted sobs, unable to raise her eyes.

Ebony looked to Nera, hoping they really did what was necessary.

Nera's expression was a mask of pain and guilt, almost unconsciously she reached out and grasped for Ebony's hand.

In a quiet voice, she whispered. 'It's for the best.' weather to herself or Ebony was not clear.

It was all Nera could do as she guided Ebony from the bed to give Amenii room, not that she seemed to see them anymore. Her hands were still trembling as she cradled them to her chest.

'She, she needed too...' Nera drew in a shaking breath. 'They are going to need a mother.'

"... I don't disagree with that...," she said rather plainly.

Ebony felt rather guilty of what they had done, and she hoped Amenii would overcome this.

Nera seemed rather numb by the events that had just transpired. 'I want to say it was for the best.' She swallowed, eyes still fixed on Amenii's shaking form, as she tried to quiet the protesting balls of fluff. She could not help but notices, she showed no favor to any one, but cradled each of them to her.

'Do you think...' Nera shook wrapping her arm around her stomach. 'Do you think, we're any better than Him.'

"... He thought only of himself... we're thinking of her and her ninos...," she said, somewhat doubting her own words.

The knot in Nera's stomach twisted, she hated herself for what she had done, even though she still felt it was for the best. 'I wish I could say the same. I think she would have hated herself in the end, not now, maybe not a month from now, or even a year. But it would consume her in the end.'

A sad expression deepened her features. 'She...we had best keep an eye on her, not until she has time.'

The small wolf would take a seat and held herself there.

Nera managed a smile, a little forced at first but it grew.

'It occurs to me, neither I or Amenii has any experience with wolf pups...' she gave Ebony a serious look. 'Would you?...'

'I'm, not asking you to.' Nera raised her hands in mock surrender. 'I, we, Amenii in particular is going to have trouble trying to raise those two.' She nodded across the room at the two wolf pups.

It was Nera's turn to shuffle uncomfortably. 'Yeah...' she murmured, clearly uncomfortable.

"You two are going to have to raise'em... and if you think about it...," she said, beginning to smile, "Wolves aren't too much different from Hyenas, at least the cool folks among us."

She would return to a more serious expression, and sighed, "I'll try to babysit if you two ever want to go out... so you don't have to worry about getting too stressed.

Nera shuddered, and opened her mouth to speak but was cut off as a horas voice echoed from across the room. 'What are you two whispering over there?'

Still clutching the newborns, she leers across the room.

Amenii seemed to have puzzled out part of the conversation, as she clutched her newborns closer to her chest, suddenly very protective of them. Her eyes, carried an accusatory glare.

Nera shifted uneasily, suddenly fascinated with a spot on the ceiling. Not amused, Amenii mutters something about the habits of Predators.

That shakes Amenii out of her trance, nodding, she looks down at them. 'When they are older. I..I'll tell them. But not for a while now. Better they don't know until they are ready.'

Extending her hand she grasps Ebony's 'Thank you.'

Nera made a coughing gasp that she tried to cover up as a casual sneeze, clearly taken aback by this. 'Is that wise?'

It took several minutes to return the children to their cribs, and for Nera to make Amenii subtitle to travel. With a last few fussing adjustments, Nera pulled an oversized hoodie over Amenii's small body.

'I guess that this is goodby for now, or tonight anyways.' Amenii gave Ebony a last look. 'When will I get to see you next?'
