Description
This is a test of using the swf files URL (as uploaded to dA) in place a flashvar to pass data to the swf.See here for an example: fav.me/d76hv25 .
Try this yourself:
Enter an 11-character Youtube ID into the text-field, click the "Download SWF" button. Save the file to your local filesystem and upload it to sta.sh .
After uploading, you may not be able to edit the deviation without breaking the internal logic.

Unfortunatelly, it seems that it does not work anymore. I've been using your great system for long time but now I can't manage to see the video on chrome or firefox. Is there another way of doing it without flash? Thanks!

hi i'd like to ask something!
the video cannot be viewed unless i put the weird gibberish that the swf file was named as the title.
i've tried renaming the swf file before uploading, checking 'allow downloads', and uploading via stash and 'submit art'.
is there a solution for this? this has never happened to me before. thanks a lot!!

Okay, I got one file to work, but I had to leave the code as the deviation name� o_O when I upload by the same method but actually name the deviation, it doesn't work...

That doesn't work for me. It appears that dA is not preserving the names after being published from sta.sh; It appears if you wan't a youtube video that the end user (you and everyone else) is going to have to compile a version with their own video ID embedded.

I noticed that I can't edit description of deviation after the publication, the link to video seem to be "broken" after that. Not sure why or how it works.

The youtube ID is determined from the filename; when you edit a deviation it changes the filename and loses information about the youtube ID.

Seems that suddenly it doesn't work, when you click the play button it appears a white screen. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure. Have you checked the video (upload) settings on Youtube?
I took a look at the R2 video:
The video isn't streaming from Youtube for some reason. I thought it was some kind of sandbox violation, but can't find anything in the Youtube API documentation. It may possibly have to do with the referer, but it works for other videos?
I can't figure out why but, the API can't load the video from the http://r13---sn-q4f7dnel.googlevideo.com/ domain.
The dA deviation loads the API (http://youtube.googleapis.com/v/#####) and then (http://s.ytimg.com/) which should load the video, but isn't.

The videos worked properly till some days ago including yours, now every video that follows your tip, loads as normal in deviantart but it doesn't stream. I tried with my phone and it works fine as ever but it is not the case on PC (Chrome and Firefox)
Other videos are still working, they have a bigger resolution though:

You don't download it from Youtube, you download it from the right of this page, input your youtube ID, rename the swf file on your computer and upload the renamed file.

The only backlash of this is that you can't make the video fullscreen, if you could make it where it can do that, that would be awesome.

Sure you don't mean it doesn't work with your current conversion setup? I mean I've seen other sites, blogs and other such where you can watch youtube linked videos full screen if you wanted to.

They embed the Youtube player with an HTML embed tag which you can't do in a flash file; Instead I can only load and use the official Youtube API and use that.
