Actually I've been experimenting with the mia_material_x shader in Maya, and I didn't see a specular setting.. I still don't really know what half the settings do yet haha. But thank you! I'll probably mess around with it some more so I can get a nice profile around the blue smileys.

i don't know maya that well but in c4d you'd make the luminance 100% and not turn GI on

actually in C4D if you turn luminance up it does nothing without GI on it just makes everything that it's applied to white XD
