The lighting in this image is very effective at spotlighting your subject. The focus is clear, crisp, and the depth of field is engaging to the eye.
The color of the leaves seems too orange to me, a victim of the lamp I know, but I think that if the leaves were greener the snake would 'pop' better.
Apart from that, I think the image is original and interesting. It is well balanced, simple and uncluttered. The snake is positioned perfectly, his beady eye is captivating, and I wonder what he is thinking! I enjoyed this greatly. Jess xx xx
