Over at the Internet Movie Database, I noticed a lot of people hating Michonne's appearance in the final episode of this season, saying that her appearance was "farfetched" and it didn't match the show. Well, let me tell you something: Michonne's appearance is no more farfetched than the zombies that are featured throughout the show, no more farfetched as the CDC storyline, no more farfetched than Rick and Shane killing zombies with pocket knifes without any effort getting it in and out (which occurred a few episodes back). And the fact that the show is based on a comic book series about zombies proves how much farfetched the whole show is, thus your argument is completely incorrect. And the fact you say, "this show takes pride in realism" is actually even more ironic. Why? Because if the show were "realistic" or had a sense of "realism", there'd be no zombies and no zombie apocalypse (and thus no reason for a show).After thinking on it a while, I came to realize why it is you hate her. It isn't because of her first appearance being farfetched (which was voted as the most badass/memorable moment in the show in the Viewer's Poll taken during "The Talking Dead"). So, here is my overall response.

I completely agree with you. Β But yeah, most of the haters that I encountered, which this image was made for, was aimed at users at the IMDb's Walking Dead forum. I haven't been back there in a while, but I'm betting now they're like, "Michonne's the best character since the first appearance!"

Yeah, that one was an old one. Β I made it back when she first appeared, and a lot of people on the Internet Movie Database forum for the show were complaining about her turning up, saying that her showing up "ruined the realism of the show." Β So, this was pretty much my response telling it how it is: they only hated her because someone more bad-ass than Daryl Dixon, Rick Grimes and Shane finally showed up.

I agree. Β We've seen her grow as a character throughout the last two seasons, and she is still not "far-fetched" as people initial thought she was going to be.

Indeed. Though first seeing her, a woman in a cloak, a sword, and zombies at her side, you have to admit, even for TWD, it is a strange sight at first. But it makes more sense when they explain

Well, we find out why she had them. Β Yes, it's creepy, but its understandable why she used them (as she explained in the last episode of Season 4). Β As for heartless, well... Β If you trust someone with your child during the zombie apocalypse, only for them to slack off on the job, resulting in losing that child, how could you have a heart after that?

Very true. I can see the benefits of having zombies with you (one example alone is the factor of fear. Saying to others "stay the f-ck away from me!")Β

Many people have asked that same question. Β The users at the IMDb forum for TWD thought her introduction was "farfetched" and "unrealistic." Β Which is funny, because they're watching a show that features zombies, a show based on a comic book series at that. Β I don't know if any of them have warmed up to Michonne, but I hope they have.

In ZA you simply hide behind her and survive with no problem.Just do what she says and everything is okay.However,if you get stuck with Daryl he would probably much shorter tempered on stupid mistakes you make.Not saying that he is bad or anything,just saying that he is not the best person to be in zombie apocalypse with(still he is grand male of the show).Β

Well I agree with on being with Michonne (hell, Andrea and her survived almost a year by themselves before discovering the Governor's crew).
When it comes to Daryl, however, he is the kind of guy you could also need help from in the ZA (he's able to track, can hunt very well, knows how to hotwire abandoned cars, restore a car battery, pretty good at sneaking up behind and enemy in order to take them out).
But, like I said, if I had to choose between them, I'd go with Michonne because she can get in and out of places quick and knows how to handle more than just one Walker.

I agree with you by the way; "far-fetched" is a pretty stupid thing to say. Even if a show with zombies could be realistic, how probable is it that people are gonna make headshots (at moving targets even) with guns, not to mention a crossbow? And the characters fighting zombies with bare hands and arms, not smart enough to tape them or at least wear sleeves? Not to mention that they would all probably have died from some illness or infection by now. It's entertainment and it just has to be realistic enough to enjoy.

Michonne is bad ass and I freaking love her. And the more I get to know her and her personality through out the show, the more I grow to like her character even more. But, Daryl is still my favorite, and probably always will be LOL.

Michonne make more sense than Darryl, its so bad I can't read Walking Dead fanfic because every damn story has Darryl up as a Mary SUE.
She has managed to survive by herself using her smarts, just by looking at Darryl you can see that the world as is it now is the only one he can thrive in.
Like you say she is the biggest badass on the show, she had that crazy ass town pegged for sure.

I know that above is your own opinion, but I don't think her appearance was far-fetched. By far, she and Daryl are my favorite characters in Walking Dead. If there was such a thing as who was better, I probably couldn't choose between the two.

According to the comics, after she took off their jaws and arms, they still attempted to try to eat her, but after a couple of weeks, they stopped because they got used to her.

By having the walkers with her, according to both the comics and the recent episode, the two walkers with her serve as camouflage to the other walkers. As you may know, in the second episode of Season 1 ("Guts"), Glenn and Rick cover themselves with walker guts so to make themselves smell like walkers. The walkers can smell rotten flesh, which that and noticing how others act around them, is how they tell teh difference between a living person and a dead one. That whole idea actually comes straight from the comics. Michonne kept the two walkers near her, which in turn covered her actual smell from other walkers.

in that episode...glenn and rick actually covered themselves with walkers...but in her case,she dind...she just bring the walkers not cover herself with any body parts from the walkers...so why other walkers dind recognize her?

Again, she was close enough to them in distance to actually having to cover herself in muck to disguise herself scent wise. She kept a low profile amongst the walkers without having to have them notice her. And whenever there was one that did notice her, she'd dispatch it quickly (I cite the comic, the very first issue in which she appears. In the comic, she witnesses a survivor riding by on a horse drawn wagon. A nearby walker notices her. Due to her always being on guard, she quickly noticed it and took it out without drawing any attention to herself from other nearby walkers). Basically, its the same method that Rick and Glenn used, but without actually having to get nasty, and with the added benefit of not losing the smell due to rain (which happened in both the comic and the show) and, unlike what is seen in the comic, a pair of beasts of burden (which it appears, in the show, she had them carrying items in backpacks).

When I first saw her I was like, "Who is this new BA chick!? I want to know more about her!" So I can't wait for season 3 to be out on DVD to see her again.
