My "Next Enterprise Contest" entry for the Star Trek Online video game.It's Parallax-class, named after my account name on those forums.
Although I got like 11th place in popular vote (which is pretty good out of THOUSANDS and the fact that I turned it in a whole month late barely before votes ended) I didn't place in the top 24 or win anything (Devs apparently didn't like it!). Kind of sucks.
But seems like everyone the fans liked was ignored.
Anyways I'm aware of several issues with this ship. I made it more "Star Trek Retro" than I intended. It looks like it would fit between TOS and TNG or something.
If I go over it again I'll probably modernize it. I really wanted to take risks with it and love it's double hull and deflector dish thing it's got going on. I'd hope to improve the nacelles which I'm somewhat unhappy with. But still, I like the Contours. Though I got a lot of votes and it's rated pretty high on the site I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's mine though!
So, I lost! So here's my failure!

The 2nd is the side view.
The 3rd is the back view.
I wanted the hulls to have massive impulse engines that kind of looked like jet packs. Why? Because I'm crazy like that.

Great work, different to most TNG era designs and unique.
As for loosing, look what they did to the winning design, I'd take the fact that the dev's didn't like it as a compliment.

Yeah I must say they don't have much of a idea when it comes to Federation designs. I think the Sao Paulo is the only design that isn't canon for the Feds that I like. Now the other species ships like Klingon, Jem'Hadar etc, they are very good. The Tholian designs were very different but in-keeping with the style. They just are off with Federation designs at least for me personally.

Too long. I think I could have done it considerably faster using a schematic program. I spent a few weeks of free time on this thing. It was my first schematic too which didn't help.
Oh and I forgot about our last conversation about you practicing with my sprite. If you haven't already started you can.
