thought the top one was the best, absolutely stunning. The umbrella one was also cool, and the others were pretty cool. My least fav had to have been the black and whites, I did not find it very symmetrical.

I interpreted "description of your theme" as "name the theme that you chose". The example they gave didn't have a lengthy description either, just the name of the theme. I guess a lot of people just interpreted the text differently and thought they also had to write a description?

i just thought that giving your theme would have been necessary for them to understand that you weren't just slapping three prints together regardless, and that them explicitly stating to provide a quick description, which sounds like more than just the theme anyway, meant they were looking for some reasoning behind the theme you chose, something to explain how/why you think the prints you chose fit together.

Well like I said, I guess people interpreted the text differently. I'm sure adding a description didn't hurt anyone's chances of winning. But I also think that if you choose the title of your theme well, you don't really need to say anything more about it. The title and the works should speak for themselves

on the one hand, point taken. on the other hand, some themes were very well thought out, but the prints chosen were best understood with the descriptions the posters provided. (and thanks for making my first comment discussion such a pleasant and engaging discourse )

I agree that there isnt a lot of variety in the winners selections. i would have prefered all kinds of art prints would have been picked. I feel this was heavily biased, and rushed. Probably only took the first few favorites you found and went with it. I saw plenty of others (not just my own cause of course i liked my own submission) that I think would have made much better winners then these. Not saying these are bad, but I feel like some other submissions might have deserved this more. As well as someone pointed out that the winners were to recieve a 3 month premium membership as to why they all have a premium membership but if you look they all have at least 12 month or more. So I again feel the seperation between those with memberships and those without, and I have to say that I wouldnt have even NOTICED this if we didnt have these giant blinding symbols next to our usernames as well as that you can clearly see when people DONT have one.
This may have been the tipping point for me to not participate in any more community projects/contests on here.

We received our premium memberships before you all got the notice that the winners were announced. It wasn't biased towards premium members. I've never had a premium membership in my life

You -also- mentioned the premium memberships and that is the part I was responding to. I simply explained to you that I think none of us were premium members prior to this contest. so it had nothing to do with us winning. I can't speak for the rest, maybe you are right and it was indeed rushed, I don't know. As for the smiley face, maybe you should try not being so easily offended. It meant nothing. I understand your frustration but taking out on people who only had good intentions is kind of rude too.

In my understanding, the prize was a 12 month premium membership, which was given to the winners earlier today, leading to them all becoming premium members right now. So I don't think they have been biased towards or against premium members. ^^

and I said that someone else said it was 3 months (for i could not remember myself how much and who got what). Based on that it would seem that way. It wasnt so much at they were all premium memebers in the listing it was how much it stood out because of the new symbols. Like before with the old ones, I never would have even noticed.

They really should have posted the themes along with the winner's names and the chosen artwork. I have a much better appreciation for Melikiba's entry, for example, knowing that their theme is "A Lot of Loneliness." I didn't even know to click the winner's names for their themes until I read the comments. For appearance alone, my favorite is Imperial White Dragon's, but Melikiba and Lunai have the best themes, so I like theirs better overall. As a contestant, it would have helped to know how similar the judges wanted the artwork to be, but I can see that the winning pieces are beautiful and well-chosen.
