Description Ben glanced around the ansible pod, the virtual projection of Bridgetown flickering with the faintest hint of static. "You know, Karen," he drawled, taking a sip of his simulated beer, "It's a real trip being here with you, all the way out in deep space. I'm on Dromunda, you're on Asaf, and yet here we are, sitting in a bar that's back in the Sol System."

Karen laughed, her eyes twinkling like twin stars in the virtual night sky. "You know, they say distance makes the heart grow fonder. But with technology like this, distance is just a word." She took a sip of her own drink, a holographic margarita, and licked her lips. "So, Mr. Astrophysicist, do you come to virtual bars often?"

"Only when I'm meeting brilliant and beautiful fellow astrophysicists," Ben replied, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "Speaking of which, I heard a joke the other day – how do you organize a party in space?"

Karen tilted her head, her brown curls cascading over her shoulder. "I don't know, how?"

"You planet," Ben said, chuckling at his own pun.

Karen shook her head, grinning despite herself. "Oh, you're terrible. But I've got one for you too: Why did the astronaut break up with his girlfriend?"

"I'm stumped. Why?"

"Because he needed space," Karen delivered the punchline with a flourish, and they both laughed, their voices echoing through the digital night.

As the laughter subsided, Ben leaned in closer, his face serious. "You know, Karen, it's funny. We're both light-years away from home, working in the vast emptiness of space, but with you, I don't feel so alone."

Karen's cheeks flushed pink, and she looked into Ben's eyes. "I feel the same way. It's amazing how two people can be so far apart, yet feel so close. The universe is a mysterious place, isn't it?"

He nodded, reaching out to take her hand. Their fingers brushed, and for a moment, the line between reality and the virtual world blurred. "It's like we're two celestial bodies, caught in each other's gravitational pull."

Karen smiled, her eyes shining with warmth. "I think I like that idea, Ben. I think I like it very much."
