Surely, it must be a jest, and nothing more - a subspace ship! Improbable, at best... But what if it's real? Is there a ship out there that can pass through the special kind of utter and unspeakable emptiness beyond our universe, to re-emerge literally anywhere.

It's not a surprise to anyone that the rumour originates from the Descended Mazing. If there's a ship like this in existence, of course it would belong to the shady underworld faction of mad fringe scientists. But does it really exist, or is it just another tall tale that the Mazing comes up with to intimidate its rivals?

Meanwhile, the Spirit of the Void, or so it's called, is allegedly capable of pulling off the feat of perfectly-folding space-and-time and jumping from a point in space to another instantaneously - a feat of science-fiction that has so far eluded the best of minds. It's supposed to be a large ship, probably of dreadnought class, though not as large as an ark. Rumours suggest that the ship is almost entirely made of the Subspace Fold Drive, with a crew complement of a couple of dozens at the most.

In order to make the jump, Spirit of the Void pierces the space-and-time continuum and passes through a special kind of void that's part of imaginary space-and-time. Mathematically, this is probable, but in reality... Just the energy required would be unimaginable.

So, is it real? Who knows... The Mazing, for one, is not talking - just giving us a knowing smirk.
