Description The minotaur sat in silence, distracted for a moment from his book, contemplating his fate. He knew that the labyrinth was a shitty metaphor for the complexities and challenges of human interaction, and that he was trapped within it. He had been cast out by society and rejected by his own family because of his beliefs and choices - so monstrous for their simplistic world view. Welcome, hermit's loneliness.

He had spent years wandering the labyrinth, trying to find a way out, but all he had found were dead ends and pitfalls. He had grown bitter and resentful, feeling that the labyrinth was a cruel punishment for something he had no control over. But despite all this, he couldn't help but hold on to the hope that one day, he would find a way to break free.

He thought about the people he had met in the labyrinth, mainly the fuckers who had promised to help him escape but had ultimately betrayed him. He thought about the times he had come close to finding an exit but had been thwarted by some unseen force, an apathy, an ennui of sorts that paralyzed him from taking the step into the other side. He thought about the loneliness and isolation he had endured for so long.

He knew that breaking free of the labyrinth would not be easy, but he was silly and naive and determined to try. He would not let the labyrinth define him, he would not give up on the possibility of finding another minotaur out there - as hungry as himself for equivalent company - and he would not let the cycle of rejection and isolation continue. He stood up, ready to face the labyrinth - yet again - and whatever challenges lay ahead.

PS. One really fucked up thing about the whole mess is that the Minotaur, just like the Frankenstein's Monster from the original Mary Shelley edition, is by far more literate than any other being he encounters along the way, thanks to his obsession with reading, learning, and books. Why, and for what reason does he learn all that stuff in his loneliness, and where all that knowledge will go is another question altogether.Β
