Hey, just posting this to remind you guys that I haven't given up on the Metroid comic! I'm still working on it, I'm just waiting until it's all completed to resume the weekly release schedule (I know it's been a whole year since the last update, sorry)
Anyway, this was drawn somewhere along the line to get the creative juices flowing. Concept for what Samus might look like naked, beneath the zero suit.
My idea was that instead of focusing on her portrayal as somebody beautiful or sexy or ideal, to instead try to use a lot of imperfections and scars and cyborg bits to tell a bit of the story of her life.

Most details here have a story to them.

As for the cyborg bits,
The two plugs on the neck are main and auxiliary connection jacks for controlling the suit. Nodes down the spine and between the ribs are the suit's primary mounting hardpoints (I reason some/most of her bones have been given metal replacements wolverine-style by the Chozo, so the suit uses her own body for structure in places like the torso and hips.) The weird little folds in places on her arms and legs are 'bio-zippers' that open to allow suit mechanisms to attach to her bones. The port on her left breast is the access shunt for the suit's life support system, and is used to filter impurities from her blood, remove CO2, and supply nutrients and medication if needed. All that was implanted in her by the Chozo before Zero Mission, and is crucial for the suit's operation.

The rest of it is all injuries incurred during her adventures. Uhhh lesse,
Skin graft on right shoulder happened during the final Mother Brain fight; the suit's power-shield system was nearly depleted, which allowed one of the Metroid's talons to pierce through the armor and damage an energy tank in the right pauldron when it latched on. The overcharging immediately after caused the tank to explode, giving her second-degree burns in the vicinity. Scars on the knees happened after the X infection; complications surrounding the parasite and drugs used to treat it caused her immune system to attack some of the metallic implants, necessitating a replacement of the several bones, including both knee joints. The incision on the right side of her chest happened during her coma in the Phazon War; the GF engineers couldn't remove the suit with her unconscious, meaning they had to physically cut through the armor, and then open up her own chest, in order to pipe the PED reactor bank into her cardiovascular system. Other smaller scratches and scars I don't have stories for.

As for the equipment she's still wearing,
The pump/filter and blood storage is a segment of the suit's ordinary life support system that she started wearing outside of it in her old age as her natural heart got weaker. Little green pads taped in places are medical monitors to check for injury and cell damage, and to act as failsafe nerve input monitors in case the spinal jacks fail. Pants are a fluid-absorbance garment similar to what astronauts wear, and has piping to suction excretion back into the suit's processing systems. Ideally if she's on a liquid diet and using her suit's blood filter system it wouldn't see any use, but having it and not needing it is better than the alternative.
