Species name:: Thrax
Traits:: All thrax's are born without wings, and completely grey without markings. As they grow older, they developp stripes on their legs, tails, and overly large inside ears. the two stripes on the hind leg are also gained in the first few years. Thrax's grow their wings within the first 3 years of their life, and grow to be about as big as a german shepard. Their build is athletic which is useful since these creatures are carnivores. they are not built for struggles and feats of strength, so they don't generally go after large prey.
Food:: Rodents, birds, small mammals
Residence:: Thraxs' coats aren't very thick, so they tend to stick to hotter climates, only coming out in the night to hun, and sleep in the shade at daytime, using their translucent wings as cover when nothing else is available to the Thrax.
Special:: The only color on thraxes are their spikes, horns, wings, and eyes. The color of all these things can change whenever the Thrax wants them to in their first few years of life. however, as the animal begins to mature, the colors will settle to whatever color is most related to the Thrax's personality.
the peircings are like totems to say the thrax has gone through certain rights of passages, or just done good deeds of bravery, or chivalry. The more piercings, the higher in status the Thrax is. There are 7 Possible piercings a thrax may get easily. The most piercings a thrax has ever gottne was 13. All of which were life altering and life threatening feats.
Reproduction:: The thrax is a mammal, and mates will be together for life. Females have 3 - 7 kits per litter. The Kits after they are weened from their mother's milk, stay with the father when the mother goes hunting. Males are in charge of keeping the den protected, safe, and clean (as well as looking after the kits) and females are in charge of hunting and gathering. (worse comes to worse, Thrax's could be omnivores, and eat plants)
