"What!?" Yugi cried, staring at Joey in utter shock.

It had been months since Yami and vanished, and He, Joey, Tea and all his other friends had searched tirelessly for their missing friend, but to no avail. Yugi had been urgent to find him of course, but on this morning Joey had told him something that would kick said urgency into high gear.

"Sorry Yugi..." The Fireback said, staring at the ground with an angry expression on face, clearly displeased as well. "The Monarchs wanna move the pod away soon due to the food moving on..." Yugi stared at Joey. "B-but what if Yami comes back and we're GONE!? He wouldn't know which direction we went! He'd be stuck here and alone!" The blonde mer growled and clawed the sand beneath him. "Y'think I don't know that? I tried talking with em but they only agreed to stay here about a week longer then usual, that's it. The pod comes before a single mer..." Yugi's heart sank. Deep down he knew the Monarchs were right, the pod needed to be fed and if the food was moving...

"They said we'd be back in a few months..." Joey continues, trying to give his Midian friend some hope.

"..."

"Yugi?..."

"Do you think he's dead too?"

"What?"

"I said do you think Yami's dead?" Yugi repeated, staring Joey right in the eye.

Joey blinked and shook his head. "Yami? Nah, he's too stubborn to just up and die." He said, cracking a smile. "I sure he's still alive somewhere Yuug, and I'm sure that there's a reason as to why he hasn't come back yet..."

Yugi sighed and sagged slightly. "Yeah... I wish he wouldn't take so long though."

"I'm sure he's just trying to be fashionably late... Come on, let's go check the border again..."

"Yeah... Thanks..."
