This was an interesting painting to work on. I had a composition in mind, but after I completed the composition it didn’t look good, so I went back to my sketch and reworked the composition. The result was this more organic piece with the addition of the butterfly, which I really like. I enjoyed painting the butterfly I may want to find another excuse to do another painting with a butterfly.

The butterfly is just perfect for this piece. Without it would be too austere, but with there is just a touch of life and movement while still blending with the color scheme. Lovely!

You won't have to wait too long. I'm working on one at the moment. Hopefully I can get it done soon...as I wasn't planning on doing any more paintings for a while due to the new member of the family coming soon.
