Thank you so much! I captured the bat in this shot, but it was so far off center. With all that space I decided to photoshop in one of my moon shots.

Thank you! I normally don't do photomanipulation; but there was so much room on that side of the bat, that I had to add the moon in!

That is actually a bat. We get a lot of them here, but they are very hard to photograph when they are flying.

Thank you, that was a marriage of two shots. When I was shooting the bats, I couldn't see them in the viewfinder. So I had to preset the focus and shoot from the hip, guessing the angle. That shot came out great, but I had a lot of room to the right, so I photoshopped the moon in from one of my other nights. Not as magical now I know, but I didn't want you to think I was that good! LOL Oh and thanks for faving it!

There's nothing wrong with that! Two great photos merged into one creates a photo twice as amazing! I would love to get a good shot of a bat - we only ever see them in the countryside during the summer. They swoop right past your head sometimes!

Yep same here, we have them sleep in the barn from time to time. (Such a sleepy guy ) The only way I could get a picture of them was put my camera on a tripod, set the focus for the range they were flying at, and click as they went by. They are too small and fast to see through the viewfinder at night. I am sure they were seeing purple spots by the time I was done!

Aww you're very lucky! That's a smart method - I might have to try that next time I see them! They would definitely be too fast for my camera's auto-focus, especially at night

lol thanks! my 6 caterpillars I have before the got ready to chrysalis decided to try eating flowers instead of milkweed. I was just like noooooooo n-no you guys eat that not this and then I moved them
