Angela's heart pounded as she stepped into the bright lights of the Olympic arena. The crowd cheered as they read her name, and roared as soon as the words "the United States of America" escaped the announcer's lips. She felt a huge wave of accomplishment and pride engulf her as the crowd chanted USA over and over again. She has never felt so accomplished in all of her life; she was here, showing on her favorite mare, in the 2012 London Summer Olympics. She waved to the crowd and cantered around the arena, smiling the whole time

As she circled the large stadium, Angela thought back to all the months of training that got her to this point. She worked Lady hard, polishing her form into a more graceful and smooth style that the judges would favor more. Lady personally didn't like her more frequent training sessions at first. After the first two weeks Lady stopped halfway through their workouts, refusing to jump. After a few days of disobedience she could not deny Angela anymore, and she sluggishly persisted through training. Eventually her body got used to Angela pushing her hard, and it showed. Under the stadium lights her muscles rippled underneath her gleaming copper toned coat; no ounce of fat being visible.

The only thing Angela worried about was Lady getting distracted by the crowd and waving flags. They had never competed in such an environment before, so she had no idea how the bay mare would react. Would she lose the smooth form Angela worked so hard to perfect and revert back to her old style, or would she simply miss jumps? Already she could see her ears swiveling nonstop, excited by the noise around her.

Taking her attention off of her mount for a moment. Angela noticed a familiar tall redhead jumping up and down wildly, screaming her name and waving a custom made CSS flag. Angela smiled broadly, and flailed her hand in his direction. Her troubles seemed to melt away for that instant, but soon enough they were back again when she realized that they were nearing the starting position. She pulled back on the reins, slowing Lady to a stop, her smile vanishing. Lights flashed and voices were raised as Angela nervously waited for the clock to start.
