Description
Prouvaire introduces himself to Courfeyrac in Enjolras as they converse on the issue of "satorial protestation" during a picnic in the Jardin de Luxembourg. Said conversation is really an excuse for Courfeyrac to persuade Enjolras to buy some more interesting waistcoats, but it does enable them to make the acquaintance of Jehan.Scene from Marguerite's "Chapeau." I adore this. He's just hanging upside down from a tree. Like, what? It's so Jehan. And Courfeyrac looks lovely, as does Enjolras. You're flippin' talented.

I can absolutely picturing meeting Jehan by having him pop out of a tree. "OHAI." His sleeves are ungodly. I love them. Also, Enjolras' expression-- he almost looks like he's run into this fellow before and is only slightly bemused by him nowadays.

What an idyllic and whimsical composition (and JP too.) I like the isosceles triangle formed with the 3 figures' heads, very symbolic. XD
I love JP's costume here, as well as Courfeyrac's expression.
Zomgee. Jehan as the goddess flora. Mucha style. Need to draw sometime.

Ooooo...Mucha Jehan! Love it! I wouldn't mind doing an Art Nouveau version again, now that I've decided he has long hair in the style of the Romantics of the period. And love the triangle idea! Prouvaire's doublet was Marguerite's idea...and somehow, for him, it works.

I just adore your Prouvaire. He was so cute in that fiction, and especially in this part.

Thank you! And yes, he is an absolute doll (albeit sometimes a rather eerie doll).

*blink* wow. *blink* that's...wow.
Love Jehan! It's the most normal thing in the world that he's hanging upside down from the tree, and the other two are like 'What? Oh, this is normal for him.'
I love them sooo much!

Glad you like it! It's an adorable scene in the story - Courfeyrac completely taken aback, and Enjolras just taking it in his stride.

Aw, haha! This is so adorable. I love Courfeyrac and Enjolras' expression is just like, "Hm? Oh, this is normal."

Yah - he's utterly cool with it. But that's how I see Enjolras - as long as you're pulling your weight, he's all cool with your idiosyncracies. Love Marguerite's characterisation!

What a delight!! Your works are like windows to me-- letting me glimpse, from my closed little corner of the world, such beautiful fabulous things! I need a daily dose of this stuff-- JOY indeed!! I love the whole composition, and from not knowing much of the characters, it's a pleasure to share in their lives through your eyes! AND talent!! Thanks for making me smile!

So glad you like it I worry that I tend to be a bit flatish in my composition...it's all pretty straightforward, and I should try some more interesting angles to shake it up. The fic writers I illustrate (not to mention Hugo himself) are so vivid they push me to reach a bit more.

These young men! They are only drawings, and I am fated to be three dimensional. If only I could spend a few minutes there on the grass with them.

Delighted you like it! I'd like to partake of a bit of spendour in the grass there too, if I could...oh to be sitting in the Jardin de Luxembourg with Enjolras, Courfeyrac and Prouvaire, debating ways in which fashion constitutes political protest (and what waistcoats would look just fabulous on Enjolras).

I can't stop staring at Courfeyrac. He looks so perfect! Like... perfectly-drawn perfect. This is so delightful. Like, "Traumatising Marius"-delightful.

Heh - for once, it's "Traumatising Courfeyrac". Exposing him to extreme Romantic fashion will do it!

Courfeyrac: *Good GOLLY*
Enjolras: *totally unfazed*

That's the gist of the scene in the story! Jehan has a doublet on. Which is, you know, the height of fashion in the second half of the 1820s. If you happen to be a Romantic Bohemian.

XD I thought it was a doublet. I think being upside-down confused my eyes .
(Come to think of it, your Jehan seems to really enjoys being upside down. I bet he was that kid you always find on the playgroud hanging upside-down on the monkey bars...)

THIS IS AMAZING. *dies* Jehan's long, flowing hair, and the shirt he's wearing (what IS that thing??) and Enjolras' 'cool' expression and Courfeyrac's 'what the hey' and and *splodes* This is just wonderful. I wanted to let you know that.

So glad you like! Marguerite vividly described the pink roses pinned to the doublet and the matching pink ribbon. And Courfeyrac's reaction!

I had to look up kenders! And yes, I see the resemblence. No more tied back hair if I can help it...or it will be when he's right side up and it resembles a queue!
