Description
in the silence of amoonless cave,
breathing through
transparent skin,
the blind salamander
sits unseen,
submerged
in a diverging
subterranean stream,
running towards the night sky
or maybe just more night;
even the stars are fleeing
and the universe resides
in space-time wrinkles,
balanced on the edge of
a mathematical sword
or hanging by a
non-existent thread,
held together only by
absent light of a
sleeping television

Beautiful sibilance in the first strophe, slides and hisses of the tongue very nicely. I liked the concept much too.

Thank you very much. Also, I'd like to tell you that you've gotten me saying "strophe" instead of "stanza," too.

Hooray for Strophes! I find it more versatile, more useful when you want to indicate a section of a poem: you can call a single unattached line a strophe, but you can't really call it a stanza.

That's definitely true.
Although most people actually know what stanzas are...

Yeah, that's a good point... eh, but I figure people can look it up. I mean, teh internets are right there, for your convenience.

Niiiiiiiice... this! Especially the ref to string theory, because that's what really got me hooked into this kind of physics. Just made me want to giggle again.

Same here! It was 7th grade. Instead of doing a project on an element, I asked if I could present on string theory instead. And there went half a year of my life.

Ah... that must've surprised your teacher. I was watching that Nova program on string theory and then I got hooked on astrophysics in general.

Yup, that. You can't really blame public television if they skew your view towards science, can you?

It's okay. Uninteresting words at least are made of pixels?
That was just the worst explanation ever. Ever.
Glad to know you're reading, though.
