I built it with a single row of iron bars around the steps, and it hasn't given me grief so far. Maybe survival mode works differently, although it shouldn't change netherrack physics THAT drastically. v1.4.7

Nope, some iron bars would prevent things from catching fire. I just didn't know that at the time, and just didn't have the heart to rebuild it after the second time it burned down... ^^'

Although this is most likely a glitch with 1.7, the glass pains in layer 14 won't connect to the stairs. Are you having this problem as well? Β

arf just tried it on 1.7 and your right, just drop the glass there and put in Birch planks i guess....arf

Hey, I'm not sure why, but I thought I'd let you know that for some reason the zoom function isn't working properly on this schematic. The other schematics you've posted allow two zooms so you can actually look at the blocks and see the details, but it's not for this one. I downloaded it instead and that works fine, but it'd be nice to just view it from deviantart.

Can't figure out how to edit my comment, so I'll just reply to it. Meant a frownie face not the angry face there. Not sure why it put that instead. Also I double checked and the WIP image works normally for zoom, however the Final doesn't. Not sure if this helps anyone, but so it's known.

yea somehow every time I edit it reverts to a smaller resolution, should be fixed now.

Sorry, found some errors: layer 2 (some fence posts as windows are out of line)
the burning netherwrak, no matter if you sink it 1 layer down, will set fire to the wooden planks above.

missed the fenceposts, thanks! as for the netherwrack, that's odd, I didn't have any issues with it, my test inn is still fine. if its a big issue change the steps to solid blocks and top them with iron bars.

Netherbrick fence could work, as for the floor idk...

I had the ceiling above the fire-pit open to avoid that, and it seems to be working fine on mine, I'll ask on my journal if anyone else has had fire issues with it. You could ring the opening of the 2nd floor with cobblestone but that would look odd. Are you building this on a PC or x-box? Mine is all PC based if that makes a difference.

I did fix the stable's windows issue, thanks for pointing that out. Β

I built this Inn on the xbox and had the same problem, but fixed it with cobblestone. I had to use netherbrick fence instead of wood to avoid that catching fire.

Now that's an idea I missed! May i add that to the updated plans when i can finally re-do them?

I did swap cobble for brick. That was my only change.

Cool, I nearly designed it with cobble over brick myselfΒ  just cause its easier to get but i wanted the well and firepit to stand out more.

It's on PC. I'll figure it out eventually. Usually I look up something like this for guidelines: minecraft.gamepedia.com/File:F…

I've found it to be far more random than they post, there may be some other factors at work but again i test my builds first to avoid these issues but sometimes they still crop up, go figure lol! I have made a 2nd Inn in survival mode just to be sure and still have not had a fire yet, so i just dono

Should be really minor. Different material, as well as some stair block placements. But the main idea seems perfect for what I'm going for!

Your work is so handy to my whole Minecraft group. Since you let me link it to them, they've been eating it up. Now that the new patch is out, I can actually start putting up screenshots for you to see!

The numbers around the grid are extremely helpful for recreating your designs, whoever though of it deserves a pat on the back.

I'd love to see some modern builds from you! Some cool houses maybe? Maybe even a skyscraper!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ColtCoyote In reply to hydrate3 [2013-10-30 04:05:33 +0000 UTC]

houses, yes, in fact I have one in the works now, there are screenshots of it in my screenshot gallery, and the plans are about 1/2 done. No skyscrapers though, they aren't in my line of interest. although aside from the first couple floors and the top couple they would be easy to do, just clone a story to whatever height you want, plus a roof layout.Β

I may do a few more modern homes aside from the one I've been working on already, as the plans are easily back or forward dated.Β
