you just download the picture and the grid page then use any good picture publisher program and cut & paste, one layer at a time. it's a bit time consuming but does the job. I did a journal entry on it here:

Hope that helps

Thanks for this! I was planning on doing some redstone-related thing with this! On another note, I added in extended pistons and angled redstone, since it wasn't on there for mine.

I'm still running to stay behind the latest patches lol, I do have all the current wood and some more of the stained clay on my latest one which i haven't posted yet, I'm adding text so it's more clear what is what

Hey, thanks for putting this up. I had to use an image from elsewhere for the torches, but I made a floorplan for the Stronghold's library from this.

I'm working on a totaly updated set to match the latest Minecraft version(s) it's just taking time which is in short supply for me right now. just keep an eye out for it, I'll put up a journal when it's done and posted.

I'm not sure how you create them, but if you would like, I am willing to help you in anyway I could.  I can definitely understand the time thing. I myself don't have an enormous amount of time, but I would def like to learn your process of how to create the blocks. I think you have done an amazing job with them, and to be completely honest, If you were to share with me how exactly you make the blocks, I would like to try to create some for the Feed The Beast side of things. Of course all rights and honors would be headed your way. But I truly would like to help you if you are willing. I don't know how much i'd be able to help, but im willing to try. Love this damn game. lol

It's not really that hard, you just have to open the .minecraft jar file using something like 7-zip, then you can access the textures files. my grid blocks are already designed to fit the texture block size so its a simple cut & paste using the picture editor of your choice. I'm working on the colored clay blocks now, I should have a new block key up sometime soon. I'm not so sure about modded block sets, I'd want to get in touch with the mod creators prior to extracting their textures. That's why aside from my own copper plate blocks I made for the Nautlius, you don't/won't see any modded builds posted as floorplans.
