Description
Working on this reference sheet has been a pain. I started it in late November (I think) and I only finished it now. During this time I stressed out a lot because I realized that the more I improve the longer it takes for me to finish a damn drawing, which I find highly ironic. On top of that, lately I’ve been obsessing over the fact that people who is way younger than me has higher skills compared to me and that’s not helping at all. I should stop bringing myself down in this matter but it’s difficult. I feel like my art looks cringy keeping in mind my age Then again, I picked up drawing as an habit not even two years ago. I’m aware that I’m being too harsh on myself and I want to change that.

Okay I think it’s time to stop whining and start saying something about the drawing itself. This is the OC I mentioned a couple of times in the past through status updates. Her name is Ulva, she belongs to the Ultra Recon Squad (as seen on the ref :v), she is seen with Dulse and Zossie. Ulva will be appearing in Brave New World in the future. Like the rest of members of the URS she is named after an alga, Ulva Lactuca aka sea lettuce. Fun fact: This kind of seaweed can produce fumes that can be potentially lethal.

I don’t have much on her bio atm because I’m the kind of person who needs to either write about the character first or think a whole lot about them. I will dump what I have so far either way because, you know, it’s something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Personality
Ulva is a really blunt individual, she speaks her mind and makes no bones about it. She doesn’t hesitate to say what she thinks of a person or a situation, even if that has gained her more than one scold in the past. Ulva doesn’t do this in bad faith, she simply believes that a white lie can harm way more than a blunt truth.

However, her brutal honesty doesn’t make her an insensitive individual. She puts family above everything else and to Ulva, her family are the other members of the Ultra Recon Squad (although there’s one of them she doesn’t see as such) as well as the pokémon they all own together. She also has a soft spot for Zossie, who is the youngest member of the squad.

This young woman can also have a very defiant attitude when required. She doesn’t mind having to take risks, especially when something important is at stake. What’s more, it gives her a huge adrenaline boost, an adrenaline boost that sometimes doesn’t allow her to realize she’s in danger. Ironically, one of her biggest fears is seeing someone she is close to get hurt, especially Dulse or Zossie. Besides that, she has an aversion towards being in complete darkness but tries to hide it as much as possible.

She is always honest with everyone
Inclined to eat healthy. She will encourage others to do the same
Has great respect for foreign environments (aka other dimensions)
Always ready for action, no matter what it is
She is a tough one but behind that, there’s a nurturing person...er, alien. Whatever!

Bad habits
Ulva can be way too blunt sometimes and if someone gets mad, she doesn’t apologize unless the other person is really upset
Remember how she encourages others to eat healthy? She can get too pushy with that
She really doesn’t care about getting into dangerous situations since they don’t seem that dangerous to her
She tends to hug too tightly
Ulva has an habit of muttering under her breath when she’s mad. That alone isn’t bad, but the fact that she generally doesn’t care if someone can hear her is
