Description

A selection of terrestrial placoderms from the early Permian native to different versions of Earth from different timelines. They all descend from bothriolepis or one of its relatives.

1- Scaly bipod. 3 metres long. Most of the "tail" is actually the abdomen. It hides razor-sharp dental plates behind its smiling lips.

2- Frog-like tripedal hopper, the tail is used as a jumping leg.

3- A rare tetrapod form, it specialized the pelvic fins as rear limbs. The dental plates evolved into a beak in some clades. They didn't developed a proper mineralized skeleton in most of their bodies, so they are partly supported by hard subdermal plates and are limited to smaller sizes. This is one of the largest predators of its time.

4- An even rarer pentapodal form. Only 1 of every 20 placoderm timelines has them. This particular specimen is an herbivore that adapted the frontal legs into a pair of big meaty claws that compensate for its weak jaw and stiff neck.

I do really like the animal number 4. The claws add a really cool design and the odd neck.
