Description
Neither a taser, nor a bug. Actually a metal-based lifeform descended from nanobots that adapted to the wild 350 million years before. We may call them artificial lifeforms, but that would be wrong: By then they have been shaped by the laws of nature as much as any organic creature. They are made from naturally-occurring materials and when their ancestors were created, they were made by naturally-evolved creatures acting according to their biologically-determined tool-making nature. So, they are as part and product of nature as literally everything else in the universe.
We may call them living machines, but what does that even mean? Organic lifeforms are another sort of machine too, just made of different materials than this little fellow here.
(Male poecilia reticulata for scale)

I like the idea of self-replicating robots evolving and becoming a part of the ecosystem in a far future, kinda like Preradkor's greenhousehives

Maybe some organisms could develop some kind of motor for harvesting mechanical energy, and maybe even for swimming or flying, tho this might be a little farfetched
