Description TITLE
-----------------------
This is a very small modification for the Windows 7 WinKey+P Menu.

INFORMATION
-----------------------
Basically, if you Run Windows 7 and use two monitors (usually extend them)
then you will notice that Windows recognises it as a projector when you press
WinKey+P, and not as a secondary screen. Well this fixes that issue.

INSTALLATION
-----------------------
Firstly, you will need to take ownership of the following file:
%systemroot%\System32\en-US\DisplaySwitch.exe.mui

Now make a backup of it, by renaming it to "DisplaySwitch.exe.mui.old"

And place the file from this ZIP file into the same location:
%systemroot%\System32\en-US\

And you are done! No reboot required. Just press WinKey+P and you're ready to go!

indeed, genuine555, small world

my gfx-card has 2 dvi outputs, the main one goes to my monitor via dvi, the secondary one goes to my hdtv via dvi->hdmi cable. it's all digital, all connected correctly (bios, etc shows on my monitor, it's just windows that gets it wrong).

nevertheless good job here, just not the solution I'm looking for

Hi d3l1, small world ain't it.

You would be correct btw. It's more of a bypass, then a fix. Still it's the best to get for now. And I like it.

but that doesn't resolve the fact the windows falsly identifies my monitor as projector and my hdtv as computer? there seems to be something wrong deeper inside windows.

Your MOD just changes the descriptions, doesn't it?

It's just because they use the same plug. If you use an LCD on a VGA port, you computer reads it as an LCD. You need a DVI cable for that.

And yes, it is a bypass. It simply modifies the text it would normally show. So if you hooked up an actual projector, it would still call it an external monitor.

I accidently wrote the wrong thing.
The first paragraph SHOULD say "you computer reads it as an CTR."

I'm actually not sure if it works on x86. I made it for x64.
