Description
I'm proud to say, with a little disappointment too, that my model is more detailed and accurate than the one used in the upcoming JP game. With the exception of the skeletons, as I was unable to find a decent stock/free brach model.Anyway. This, if you don't know all ready, is the interior of the Visitor Center from the movie Jurassic park (1993).
I've been working on this model off and on for about two weeks.
I would have finished it faster but I had to wait till I got home from out of town to get high def screen caps from my DVD.
I was unable to find the mural on the back wall online any where so I ended up photoshoping a few different pictures together.
I think the hardest part of this was those damned railings on the stairs.
Anyway. I would have used more light sources but my computer sucks and ran out of memory again. So 1 light source for me.
Time: 15 hours (not counting the 5 hours for rendering)
Modeled: Rhino 4.0
Rendered: V-ray

Very beautiful! Is that the real color of the floor from the movie?

Yeah. The floor is actually quite nice. It's made up of four rings of different colored marble. with those eight squares arrayed around the center circle. There is really on one shot in the who movie where you get a good look at it, and that's the shot just as they are about to climb out of the air duct.

Wow, it took 5 hours to render? Thats intense. I do some DSS Solidworks 3-dimensional design for Engineering purposes, and rendering on complex models/machines can take about 20 minutes depending on textures, lighting, and scenery.
BUT, thats on a completely different level. This is obviously done for entertainment, not just for scale, so its going to have many more objects and such. At that, its gotta be perfect or the critics piss all over it! (Reference to History of the World Part I) haha.
Very well done. I would love to see more of these 3-D models!
