Storyline One: Snowcatcher - Shadows

Snowcatcher warily stepped within the doors of the prestigious school. There was nowhere else to go after all, plus, ponies were starting to approach from behind her.

A cacophony of sounds assaulted Snowcatcher, tons of ponies, no, creatures were abuzz within the walls. So many conversations were happening at once, all kinds of creatures moved about, even ones flying above her. She backed herself up to the doors, her rump pressing up against it until she could physically not move further back. There were so many ponies... too many creatures, those pegasai were flying way to close to the ground... to her, they might-

"Greetings!" Snowcatcher didn't even notice the pony approach her, being so overwhelmed by everything around her. A charming pink unicorn stood right in front of her, Snowcatcher physically recoiling as much as she could. "Welcome to the School of Friendship, are you a new student?" Snowcatcher couldn't do much more than shakily nod her head. "Wonderful. May I see your acceptance letter?" She finally moved away from blocking the door, as a few ponies were finally able to enter. She reached into her saddlebags to pick up the now slightly-crumpled acceptance letter she had put in her bag only a minute or two ago. "Let me see..." The unicorn took it out of her hooves before Snowcatcher could offer it forward. "Snowcatcher hmm...?" Before Snowcatcher could say anything, she folded the letter nicely, levitating it back into Snowcatcher's saddlebags and closing them shut. The unicorn adjusted her Harmony emblem on her cape, then turned to point towards the crowd. "You should be with that large pony over there, with the yellow coat." She pointed towards a table where behind it, the pony as described stood. "Good luck out there." She chimed, before moving behind Snowcatcher to assist other ponies.

Snowcatcher kept her head as low as she could, making her way through the crowd to the table she was assigned to. Thankfully, there were less creatures around that side. The pony was talking to one of the other ponies standing by the table, until noticing Snowcatcher.

"Well hiya!" They gleefully greeted. "What's yer name?" She was taken back by the sudden brashness. "I'm... My name's Snowcatcher." The yellow pony perused through papers on a clipboard they had to the side. "Aha, here you are! Nice to meecha Snowcatcher!" The pony offered a cheerful smile. "Oh, by the way, my names Kiwi Tart! I'm gonna be yer student representative." Before she could respond, Snowcatcher was interrupted once more. "Heya!" Kiwi was looking around her to talk to a different pony. A dark unicorn walked up beside Snowcatcher to the table. She moved a few steps away. "Names Roaring Storm, I should be on there, right?" Kiwi glanced to the papers once more. "Let me see... ah, yes!" They perked up. "Your mom's the legendary Tempest Shadow right?" She smirked, "Howdya know?" | "Well, a friend of a friend of my moms, but I've just heard about her!" Kiwi beamed. "Where do ya come from?" | "Farasian Shores, I know, I know, a bit far away, but ma insisted I come here for school." | "How interesting!" Kiwi then perked up, turning their attention back to Snow. "Oh yeah, forgot to ask! Where'd you come from Snowcatcher?" Eyes were now back on her. She didn't like that much. "M-me?" Kiwi perked up. "Yup!" Snowcatcher hid into herself again. They waited expectantly. "I, uh, I'm from Manehatten." | "How quaint! I'm sure we've got plenty of students that came from there!" They cocked their head. "Who are yer folks?" Just when she thought the intrusion couldn't be any worse. Her wings clung close to her body, feeling so small under the eyes of so many ponies. "Um... I don't know..." Snowcatcher replied in a trying-to-dismiss-the-question kind of way. "You don't know?" She remained quiet, tension building every second. "Um..." Kiwi looked around the room. "Well, we've still got a few ponies we're waitin on, then we can start on with the school tour! Until then I'll fill you in on what goes on around here..."

So many ponies in such a small hallway... Snowcatcher was in the middle of the tour, led by none other than the princess of friendship herself, Princess Twilight Sparkle. She was looking at her. Of course she was. Everycreature was looking at her. She could feel it, she could see it, the stares, the side glances... she didn't belong here, squashed among all these ponies just because she had nowhere else to go, she didn't-

Kiwi Tart nudged Snowcatcher. For a split second, she thought to herself oh no they know I'm not listening to the presentation I'm gonna- "Hey, you ok?" Kiwi talked just loud enough so she could hear, not to interrupt the presentation. "Whay-no-uh, I-I'm sorry-" Kiwi laid a hoof on her. "What are you apologizing for?" | "Huh?" she hadn't processed the statement yet. "Why are you apologizing to me? Is this too overwhelming?" Kiwi waited for a second, with no reply. "Hey, you traveled all the way from Manehatten right? Most ponies have already had time to settle in and I'm not sure if you've even had time to rest yet." Kiwi looked up through the crowd. "Here, I'll tell ya what, I'll take you to your living quarters, and you can rest up, ok?" Snowcatchers ears lifted, looking back at Kiwi. "Here, just hold on one sec." Kiwi squeezed through a few ponies to a red earth pony of similar stature. They nudged the pony, and asked something... but it was too hard to hear over the other conversations. Kiwi squeezed back through the crowd settling next to her. "Alright, we're all set. Lets-" | "Hey, teach, can I come with." The dark pony asked. "Uh... hmm..." They pondered a second. "Oh, right! You're her roommate anyways, so I think that would work out just perfect!" | "Cool, I learned this stuff before I got here." Snow perked up. Of course, the learning. "But, but what about the t-" | "Don't worry your head about it, I can get some supplemental reading and a map of the school for you to catch up on later." | "And what I heard from ma, Twilight repeats things all the time." Well, she was content enough. "Alright, let's head out before we disturb our other classmates."

The three of them made it down the hallway, further and further away from the tour group. "Oh, Snowcatcher," Kiwi stopped them, "Here, let me carry those bags for you!" They beamed. She hesitated. "Don't worry, I'm a strong pony! I'm sure you've been carrying those a long time." | "You don't have to..." | "Nah, no weight off my back!" They moved the saddlebags over to their back. "Or, it would be more weight on my back, ah nevermind that!" Kiwi signaled the group to keep trotting forward. "You've used these for a long time huh? I love the colors! Anyways, the rooms are a building down, but before we get there, let's stop by the lobby to get you some papers..."

Ponies were looking at her.

(I had this drawing pretty much done for a good while, it was just writing the story that was keeping me from posting it)
(Also I'm sure this writing isn't the best but I just wanna get this done and posted lol)
