What is Figureverse?

Figureverse is a next generation universe following the events of MLP:FIM, like many others you've seen! However, there is one big difference:

Each next-gen kid is a figure-only character!

I've got a love for these obscure characters, so I decided to take the concept further!
Basically, each new kid that's a next gen is directly inspired by a toy character from G4.



What's a "Figure only character"?

A figure only character, or merch only character, is a character in gen 4 that was only seen in merch.
These ponies originated as toys during gen 4, but were never seen in the show of G4. Some may have become minor comic appearances though!
A character like this you may have seen before is Princess Skyla!
Many people use her in their next-gen verses, as she was a princess specifically made as a "so soft newborn" kind of doll.

However, that may be the most popular example, there are a lot other characters like this!

Princess Sterling and Princess Gold Lily are also somewhat popular, as new princess characters catch people's attention!
There are plenty other ponies that were merch only and never appeared in the show!



Wait a second, thats a G3(etc.) character!

Keen eye! I realized while making this verse that many merch-only ponies are actually copies of G3 characters.
Most of them are just one off blindbag ponies, but hey, still a pony in G4 merch not in the show!



Why make figureverse?

For some reason, the more I looked into these guys, the more I got attached to them.
Particularly, I've already had one of these characters for a long time!
Lily Blossom was my favorite toy I had by far, and I made her into my own character years ago when I was young.
(There's a few drawings of her on my account through the years)
I also did this with Cupcake, another figure only character that I loved when I was young, but only obtained a few years ago.

It is a lot of work trying to fit in each figure character with what parents would fit best, what parents I should even use, etc.
But I love these obscure ponies, and I always liked other people's takes on them, so I'm going the whole way and making a whole verse around them!

Also, to give credit where credit is due, flipwix has a similar concept!

How do you know all of these characters?

This is just a bit of an excuse to post my recourses. I feel I may be one of the only people to really care about making a comprehensive list of these guys?
Great resources to check out are the sites I've used to round them up - MyLittleWiki Strawberry Reef and Mlp Merch

Each of these sites doesn't seem to have a full, written out list. MyLittleWiki has a bunch, but not more recent characters like Sterling and Gold Lily.
Mlp Merch probably has them all, but only lists a few under their search by G4 character section. So I've had to do an amount of digging myself.
I may post my full compilation one day if people show interest!



I've already got a lot planned, and a lot of characters/storylines laid out, so stay tuned! Thank you for reading!
