Here another map with flags! Wew. I know. And I don't have a detailed back story for this though. I suppose it could be the alternate future of an alternate history? Heh. Anyways now for some info on some of the countries involved in this. But feel free to ask me things about this and I either can give exact answers based on if I have something figured out for that already or not.

The Social-Authoriatarian Federation of Europe (S.A.F.E.):
The S.A.F.E. is a one-party controlled and autocratic Federation with limitted elements of popular democracy. The Social-Authoritarian Party (SAP) seized power in Germany and France first and then unified the states with the goal of uniting all of Europe with military power united under one Solidarian economic system and state entity. The S.A.F.E promotes stability and progress and rather sacrifices freedom for safety than the other way around. The S.A.P.'s policies are mostly pragmatic but regard Social issues to be important but they don't tolerate opposition as a hindrance to their plans. Due to the S.A.F.E.'s vast military strength they made many smaller countries join without even invading them. They only had to invade two countries to make them join so far: Switzerland and Iceland. Switzerland was invaded when the Roman-Catholic Empire declared they would "liberate the Catholics of Switzerland from Protestant rule and Democratic heresy". So the S.A.F.E. decided they needed to seize the country before their enemy. Eventually they managed to take most of Switzerland with the R.C.E. only seizing most Italian speaking areas which they had put the most focus on. Iceland formally refused to join the United State and the S.A.F.E. which both offered the country to join them. The CIA then assassinated their head of state and the country was plunged into chaos fearing invasion by the U.S. But instead the S.A.F.E. was the first to step in. They actually had readied their troops before the assassination had even taken place because their secret service had exposed these plans by the U.S. government already. So they already had secured all valid areas of Iceland which didn't have any military to fight back when the US navy arrived. After realizing that attacking now would probably cause a world war they decided to retreat without a fight. They later claimed the S.A.F.E. assassinated the President of Iceland. But the Icelandic people were too thankful to the S.A.F.E. for preventing further violence by the U.S. that their plans for gaining more favour from their allies failed. The S.A.F.E. made Iceland into one of their Protected Areas. Which basically was the statues of being part of the S.A.F.E. but not being allowed to have their own representatives in the parliament or the 1st rank citizenship status allowing people to take part in the annual plebiscites. The Balticum used to be a Fascist Monarchy formed out of the former Baltic states to resist the Russian Empire. But after taking severe losses trying to defend their borders King Karl-Christian I. decided to call in support from the S.A.F.E. behind the Fascist leader's back. The secret service of the S.A.F.E. had already infiltrated the country years ago though so putsching the Fascists and taking power with the King's support was done quickly. The Fascist leader Hans Kapp was executed by military law by the royal guard. After threatening Russia with the secret nuclear missiles that were stationed in Sealand they abborted their invasion as they feared the S.A.F.E. would also launch an invasion into Finland which hadn't been fully integrated or armed yet. The King abdicated giving all power to the S.A.F.E. after because that were the terms he agreed to in favour of saving his people. The S.A.F.E. officially isn't allied to any nation but has good diplomatic relations with Authoritarian Socialist countries such as the U.A.S.R. and the Iberian Socialist Republic. Assyria has expressed their sympathy as well but refuses the idea of joining them just like the rest. The S.A.F.E. is considered one of the world's top 3 military super powers and economically only ranks behind China and the US.

The United State (U.S.):
The United State was formerly known as the United States of America. But after the abolition of the Constitution under the Democratic Socialist Thommas Sandman that reformed the U.S.A. into a parliamentary democracy a short civil war occured that lasted for 3 weeks. With different factions fighting each other in the end the military stopped all the Socialist revolts and Republican or Constitutionalist groups that were fighting. A general of the U.S. military known as John Roseberg that was highly involved in these operations and a long time member of the Republican party joined the provisional government that was in power for a year. He and his allies quickly killed off all opposition and gained public favour with his charismatic and patriotic speeches saying that America would rule the world under his presidency and end all disunity in the country. So after he was elected President with a vast majority he introduced a new constitution instead of re-introducing the old one as hoped for by his Republican Constitutionalist supporters. He declared the U.S.A. a unity state and abolished the existence of states. Every state now only was a region of the now also renamed U.S. And the constitution also had the declared goal to unite more than just North America into this one State. Term limitations also were abolished and Roseberg has been serving 4 presidential terms in a row so far. The Republican party had been ridded of all opposed elements in a CIA opperated row of planned "accidents" and other seemingly natural causes of death. The U.S. is a Capitalistic and Imperialist state that commonly invades countries to stabilize its economy rather than giving up their ridiculous consumerist insanity or extravagant luxury for their upper classes. After the United Kingdom was ont he verge of economic collapse due to severe false calculations and false political decisions of the past they joined the U.S. Ireland was invaded 2 years after and was defeated despite strong popular resistance. The U.S. is enemies with all Socialist states and the S.A.F.E. as well as the Russian Empire. It supports some monarchies in Europe though and has good relations to Republican states in the world. It denies supporting the Fascist states but evidently does so if it's for the goal of attacking their enemies. They also are planning an invasion of Assyria as many sources claim since they want to rebuild Israel that was destroyed in the Assyrian Revolution. Economically the U.S. rank only behind China as they have plenty of territories to exploit.

The Russian Empire:
The Russian Empire is an Absolutist Monarchy Imperial Federation organized under a mysterious Monarch calling himself "Tsar Nicholas of Romanov the Reborn". His identity is unknown to the world but some secret services suspect that it might be the a bastard son of a certain President of the former Russian Federation that was in power for longer than anyone before him and always enjoyed vast support of the people. The Russian Empire began its reign invading several eastern European countries when Europe was in crisis. They have an impressive military with high man-power but lack economic strength compared to their country's massive size. The Russian Empire has good relations to the Balkan's Fascist states as well as the Serbian Despotate and views itself as an entity protecting Orthodox Christianity in the world.They also are declared enemies of Socialist nations. One of their current goals is to bring the United States of Greece on their side but they have made no diplomatic successes so far as the U.S.G. condemn their undemocratic ways. So an invasion is invitable in the future. The Polish Kingdom also fears that Russia might invade them and which is not unlikely considering the S.A.F.E. sea block of U.S. ships into the Scandinavian sea and their distance to the R.C.E. But in recent years the Russian Empire is less concerned with invasion or expansion like its rivals the S.A.F.E. and the U.S. but more with striking down revolts in Ukraine or their eastern territories. The Russian Empire lacks behind economically due to lacking industrialization in some areas and missmanagement but still ranks above the Roman-Catholic Empire.

The Roman-Catholic Empire (R.C.E.):
The Roman-Catholic Empire is a Theocrcratic and absolute Monarchy. It was created due to a certain radical Catholic politican named Fermo Bettini which gained an absolute majority with his Catholic People's Alliance. He then abolished the Italian state and seceded all official powers to the Vatican making all of Rome into the holy city once more. Pope Benedict XVII which was a hardliner trying to erase the era of the double-papacy entirely was pleased with this and ordered a Reconquista of Europe in the name of the one true church. Soon many neighbouring countries were either overtaken by Pope loyalists or invaded as well. The rise of popularity for these groups stemmed from the the civil unrest due to the numerous Islamic terror incidents and the chaotic numbers of those following the strange religion they felt endangered by. Their enormous numbers in Europe can be explained by failed past proposals to strengthen border control but eventually collapse came upon and under the R.C.E. there is no more tolerance for "heathens". Catholics live rather comfortably whereas Protestant and Orthodox Christians either mass-converted or got degraded socially to low positions in the very class-based society of the HRE. Heretics, sect members and Jews as well as Muslims whether radical or not were imprisoned, executed or enslaved. Church attendance is mandatory and the Inquisition runs a reign of terror wherever it is sent to in order to "erase impurity". The R.C.E. is on bad terms with the Orthodox and Protestant nations of the world as well as enemies with all Socialist countries or the S.A.F.E. which they had fought with about Switzerland before. The Serbian Despotate also started persecuting Catholics after the R.C.E. invaded Bosnia and Herzigovina and brought many Serbs under their reign. The R.C.E. is lacking behind economically since it neglected industrial and technological advancements. They re-introduced agrarianism in many places and also serfdom of the low class "heathen" members of their society. Neo-Feudal structures lead by local Bishops or heads of the church can also be observed in many instances. Their current long term goals are to re-take Jerusalem from the Assyrian Social-Nationalists and also to reconquista the Iberian peninsula. But as their military is exhausted and lacking behind technologically they are currently focused on maintaining their current Empire- especially against the Ottoman Republic and the S.A.F.E. The R.C.E. has good relations to the Polish Kingdom and National Socialist Romania. They formally deny alliance with the latter because of their religious and ideological disagreements though.

The Swedish Kingdom:
In the dangerous climate of the times with steadily expanding Empires the governments of Sweden, Denmark and Norway worked out an alliance for economic and general security. The plans were progressing well but the S.A.F.E. had begun to infiltrate Danish politics and so after the next elections that were held a Pro-S.A.F.E. party-alliance won the elections and promptly aborted the scandinavian alliance talks. The Social Alternative Party of Denmark had won the elections with extensive S.A.F.E. campaign funding emphasizing their criticism of monarchy and that Sweden could use the alliance to undermine Denmark's freedom. But soon after the new government took office the S.A.F.E. sent them a formal demand to join their Federation- which to the disdain of their supporters signed immediately. Witnessing these developments Sweden's Premier Bjorn Carlsson proposed drastic measures at the next conference with Norway arguing after fall of Iceland and Denmark drastic actions would have to follow so that they would not meet the same fate. But the King of Norway publicly denounced proposals for a unification with Sweden making the population more likely to vote against it in an upcoming referendum they had decided on holding. In despair the Swedish Premier seeked help by the U.S. and with their stationed troops in Sweden they invaded Norway on the day of the referendum seizing all important cities after extensive battles that carried on for months. And so the Norewgian Kingdom was dissolved and became a part of the Swedish Kingdom. The Swedish Kingdom has a stable social system and is financially stable enough to carry on with their allies in the U.S. promising them to keep them independent.

The Iberian Socialist Republic:
With the widespread success of left-wing parties in Spain a declared Communist- Romero Santiago- became the leader of the Spanish government. Under him and his broad coalition of Socialdemocrats, Communists and Greens a referendum about the monarchy was held. The King- distrusted and rallied against by the people accepted it and fled the country after it turned out in favor of Santiago's plans. According to some sources he and the royal family have been living in exile in Britannia since then. Spain then underwent numerous reforms that also included building up a capable military as concerns grew that threats by foreign reactionary and capitalist forces might become too dangerous. When a Fascist movement took control of Portugal Santiago who was now General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Republic ordered an invasion with the army he had allegedly built for defense. And Portugal lacking any stability after the Fascist coup was quickly overtaken and integrated into Socialist Spain which then became the Iberian Socialist Republic. The I.S.R. is economically weak and has been putting focus on communal agrarian development to maintain an independent food supply although its medical infrastructure lacks behind due to their social system and military being very money consuming. They are facing many terror attacks by Portuguese rebels as well as some potential CIA backed groups in the country all while the S.A.F.E kept growing stronger on their doorstep. The I.S.R. has bad relations with all nations except the few Socialist remnant states and the mighty Union of African Socialist Republics.

The Union of African Socialist Republics:
In the events of the Saharan spring many African states were toppled by Pan-Africanist and Communist movements supported by Libya and Burkina-Faso. The U.S.A. which normally would have stepped in to prevent Socialism from re-emerging and African states causing further problems for the Western Nations and their allies again was busy with its own conflicts in the wake of their own civil war. Thomas Rashid who had been leading the Revolutionary Pan-African Liberation Army (RPALA) successfully united most of North and South Eastern Africa with violent means. In fact local rulers were still in control of the "Republics" of the U.A.S.R. which nostalgically had been named similarly to the long dead U.S.S.R. so Rashid mostly served as a propaganda figure of unity. The U.A.S.R. propagates it seeks to unify "Africans of all Colors" in a new mighty union "where the means of production will belong to the African people". Lofty ideals have been set by the general government although it de facto wields little power over the local leaders that agree to stay within its union. One of their goals is the Invasion of Saudi Arabia which has re-introduced slavery but also seizing Malta from the R.C.E. as they claim it is rightfully African. Due to their militaries being fractured and scattered the Revolutionary Pan-African Liberation Army is their only universial armed force with rather old fashioned weaponry. Thus plans for "liberation through invasion" have not progressed well. The U.A.S.R. has bad relations with the U.S. which has been readying for war with them for a few years now. The R.C.E. also condemns their opposition to religion and puts effort into defending all their island territories with their naval forces sinking any African ships that enter their waters. The greatest ally of the Union of African Socialist Republics in Europe is the I.S.R. which they trade material supplies with.

Britannia:
In the past Britain claimed to rule the waves- now they are a mere colony controlled by one of their former colonial states. After years of isolation from the rest of Europe and failed attempts at free trade with its former colonies had ruined the British economy an Americanist putsch in favor of President Roseberg almost succeeded. He had been idolized by the British far right as a true nobleman of the sword but the British military managed to prevent them from storming Buckingham palace to take the King hostage. Unfortunately the U.S. took this event as an excuse to invade Britain which quickly fell to the Americans' military might. After the British far right leader Brandon Flickers became the leader of the newly established "Republican Party of Britannia" he was soon elected as the governor of the new colony. Britannia has been more stable since economically and people regard America their saviour- though this too is due to extensive Americanist Propaganda. In Ireland uprisings have become more frequent in recent years. Britannia has good relations to the Swedish Kingdom and other democratic Republics in the world.

Czechoslovakia:
With the election of the Czechoslovak Democrats in both Czechia and Slovakia that had been caught up in economic crisis the two countries unified once more. The C.S.D.'s leader Matyáš Svoboda campaigned for re-unification with Slovakia and free-market liberalism as well as widespread privatization. Witht he failure of Social Democrats in both countries and the threat of getting absorbed by growing forces in Europe once more the people were more than willing to back the agenda of their newly elected leaders that started negotiations for re-unification right after taking office in both countries which would come to frution. Czechoslovakia has good relations to the U.S. which is one of its patrons that keeps a considerable numbers of troops in the country. Czechoslovakia is economically stable but poorly developed infrastructure wise. The division between rich and poor has been growing bigger for many years so slowly the support for the new Czechoslovakia is fading and recently Pro-S.A.F.E. movements have been gaining traction in Slovakia. Other friendly nations to Czechoslovakia are the Polish Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The Ottoman Republic:
After Turkey had slowly began re-islsamization of institutions and Attatürk had been tilged from their history by their despotic president the name of the country in Anatolia was soon changed to fit past days of glory as well. The Ottoman Republic formally became an "Islamic Republic" and after the president passed his son took office in his stead. Elections now only change seats in parliament but not the head of state and many argue they are prone to extensive election fraud. The Ottoman Republic has good relations to Saudi Arabia which it now considers an ally against Assyria which holds territories both countries would like to call their own. The opposition of Assyrians to Islam and Christianity spreading in the middle east once more makes them one of the Ottoman Republic's top enemies. But with the U.S. ceasing to support their military development they increasingly have fallen behind in the arms race. The United States of Greece frequently criticze the Ottoman Republic for not being truly democratic but they still maintain trade relations.

The United States of Greece:
The United States of Greece came into existence after the U.S.A. prevented a Communist take over of the country as uprisings had begun- largely fueled by high unemployment and poverty. The new reforms made Greece more federal than before and helped ease conflict considerably. After the U.S.A. became the United State relations have cooled off as Greece wishes to remain true to democracy though they are still on friendly terms with most other democracies. Their military and economy are both weak but the U.S. does not entertain many bases there due to resistance by the Greek government. Invasion by the neighbouring Fascist or Islamist nations as well as the S.A.F.E. could be invitable. Although the Russian Empire has shown much interest in forming better ties to Greece they have been largely rejected due to their brutally absolutistic ways and lack of religious freedom.

Greater Romania:
With the rise of Ultranationalism in Romania Neonazis eventually took control with the far-right elected government stepping down for them voluntarily. After they soon invaded Moldova which they claimed to be rightfully theirs. Greater Romania is National Socialist in ideology and tries to emulate Germany under Hitler's reign persecuting Jews or Gypsies but also Hungarians and other ethnic minorities propagating "Latin Supremacy" of native Romanians. Greater Romania has good ties to other Fascist nations and harbors sympathies for the R.C.E. due to their Latinist ideology viewing it as a kind of related "Roman brother nation" although the R.C.E. not so warmly returns these feelings as the National Socialist Romania was mostly Orthodox religiously. Greater Romania is economically weak and militaristic in nature and heavily relies on wine trade with the Russian Empire.

The Serbian Despotate:

Stefan Brancovic erected the Serbian Despotate after the Great Balkan War with the help of the Bulgarian State. His retromonarchist movement intending him to become the new King of Serbia did not receive too much following before the war with Albania over Kosovo. After their victory his sentiments for unification with Montenegro helped him gain popular support. After his election he introduced a new constitution making him the Despote of Serbia under constitutional law. Uprisings were struck down by Bulgarian agents and the Serbian military. Serbia later gave half of Albania to the United States of Greece in exchange for food as a famine had struck the country with the treaty of Tirana. Serbia is a poor country with a police state. The S.A.F.E. authorities have not considered its addition to the Federation thus far because of their underdevelopment. Serbia has warm relations to the Russian Empire whose Monarch inspired Brancovic's movement for large parts. Serbia also has good ties to other monarchies and some democratic states. The R.C.E. considers Serbia an enemy as Barancovic ordered to persecute Catholics after witnessing what the R.C.E. did to Serbs in Bosnia which he originally wanted to partially add to Serbia as well. The Bulgarian State has a military alliance with Serbia promising to aid it in case of war.

The Bulgarian State:
The Brotherhood of the Golden Lion was an Orthodox Ultranationalist movement that gained support in Bulgaria thanks to Russian support. Due to previous crisis with migrants and popular distrust towards the corrupt democratic government the movement grew in numbers and steadily radicalized into an outright Fascist paramility group. They putsched the government and declared Bulgaria a Fascist State of God's grace soon after. Bulgaria entertains a well structured secret service they use to meddle with foreign affairs despite their lack of great military or economic might. Serbia is one of their allies since the Great South Balkan war and they aided their poor slavic comrades of Orthodox faith and helped Brancovic to seize control over the country. The Bulgarian State persecutes ethnic and religious minorities vigoriously and their secret police much takes after the Gestapo of Hitler's Germany although they claim to ideologically be more in line with Fascism rather than National Socialism. The Bulgarian State harbors negative feelings towards Greater Romania due to their mistreatment of Slavs but they still maintain relations due to their ideological similarities. The Russian Empire is their most powerful ally.

The Polish Kingdom:
Poland which had always been a strongly conservative Catholic nation had begun radicalizing long before the S.A.F.E. and the R.C.E. even came to be. The militant Catholic National Front gained a full majority in elections due to Poland's opposition to the reforms done by the Double-Papacy they deemed to be a heretic act not in line with church doctrine. The C.N.F. declared that Poland can no longer be a democracy because people were meant to serve only one leader- Jesus Christ- God. And so the C.N.F. formally abolished democracy in Poland and continues in a traditionalist Catholic nationalist one party government since. Distinct about them is the lack of a single leading figure and the direct involvement of Catholic bishops in their party. Poland officially became known as the "Polish Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit" with the new constitution of Poland refering to Jesus Christ as the one true head of state and monarch of Poland. The Polish Kingdom has bad relations with the S.A.F.E. due to their secular nature. The S.A.F.E. also has often stated that Poland may be on the list of considered places of expansion. Poland has good relations with the R.C.E. which aids them economically and financially. The R.C.E. which came to be after the Polish Kingdom has offered Poland to join its realm once they decide to recognize the Pope again which thus far has not yet been the case. The Polish Kingdom is at goot terms with various monarchies and republics in Europe inspite of its odd form of government- the Catholic National Front has not persecuted minorities to the exctent Fascist nations or the R.C.E. have and generally tolerate Christians of other denominations whilst still discriminating Jews by law.

The Persian Empire:
With the return of the Shah- backed by not only the Russian Empire but also the U.S. the Persian Empire is the youngest and smallest out of the Empires of the times. Russia and America both worrying about their oil supply under the Islamist Iranian state decided to temporarily aide the same side and so with the help of their weapons, Zoroastrian militants gathered from exile and Pro-Monarchy rebels the Iranian Islamic Republic fell. The Shah ended Islamist oppression and re-established the law of old Persia taking a secular approach to religions only tolerating moderate forms of Christianity and Islam and granting special protection to Zoroastrians in the new Persia. Persia has bad relations with Saudi Arabia and the Ottoman Republic. The U.S. and the Russian Empire both maintain trade with Persia making it economically prosperous compared to Assyria which was still struggling to rebuild its economy on its own.

Assyria:
In the wake of the Assyrian revolution the Assyrian Social Nationalist Party at last could succeed with Americans retreating to take care of their own civil war. Assyria stretches accross Syria, Palestine and Jordania as well as Cyprus. Ideologically it is highly social but also extremely nationalist. The ASSNP promotes Christianity and Assyrian culture in the new state. Governing in a one party state with local elections Assyria is relatively stabled despite its troubled creation. The S.A.F.E. officially isn't allied to any nation but has good diplomatic relations with Authoritarian Socialist countries such as the U.A.S.R. and the Iberian Socialist Republic. Assyria has expressed their sympathy as well but refuses the idea of joining them just like the rest. The S.A.F.E. is considered one of the world's top 3 military super powers and economically only ranks behind China and the US.

The United State (U.S.):
The United State was formerly known as the United States of America. But after the abolition of the Constitution under the Democratic Socialist Thommas Sandman that reformed the U.S.A. into a parliamentary democracy a short civil war occured that lasted for 3 weeks. With different factions fighting each other in the end the military stopped all the Socialist revolts and Republican or Constitutionalist groups that were fighting. A general of the U.S. military known as John Roseberg that was highly involved in these operations and a long time member of the Republican party joined the provisional government that was in power for a year. He and his allies quickly killed off all opposition and gained public favour with his charismatic and patriotic speeches saying that America would rule the world under his presidency and end all disunity in the country. So after he was elected President with a vast majority he introduced a new constitution instead of re-introducing the old one as hoped for by his Republican Constitutionalist supporters. He declared the U.S.A. a unity state and abolished the existence of states. Every state now only was a region of the now also renamed U.S. And the constitution also had the declared goal to unite more than just North America into this one State. Term limitations also were abolished and Roseberg has been serving 4 presidential terms in a row so far. The Republican party had been ridded of all opposed elements in a CIA opperated row of planned "accidents" and other seemingly natural causes of death. The U.S. is a Capitalistic and Imperialist state that commonly invades countries to stabilize its economy rather than giving up their ridiculous consumerist insanity or extravagant luxury for their upper classes. After the United Kingdom was ont he verge of economic collapse due to severe false calculations and false political decisions of the past they joined the U.S. Ireland was invaded 2 years after and was defeated despite strong popular resistance. The U.S. is enemies with all Socialist states and the S.A.F.E. as well as the Russian Empire. It supports some monarchies in Europe though and has good relations to Republican states in the world. It denies supporting the Fascist states but evidently does so if it's for the goal of attacking their enemies. They also are planning an invasion of Assyria as many sources claim since they want to rebuild Israel that was destroyed in the Assyrian Revolution. Economically the U.S. rank only behind China as they have plenty of territories to exploit.

The Russian Empire:
The Russian Empire is an Absolutist Monarchy Imperial Federation organized under a mysterious Monarch calling himself "Tsar Nicholas of Romanov the Reborn". His identity is unknown to the world but some secret services suspect that it might be the a bastard son of a certain President of the former Russian Federation that was in power for longer than anyone before him and always enjoyed vast support of the people. The Russian Empire began its reign invading several eastern European countries when Europe was in crisis. They have an impressive military with high man-power but lack economic strength compared to their country's massive size. The Russian Empire has good relations to the Balkan's Fascist states as well as the Serbian Despotate and views itself as an entity protecting Orthodox Christianity in the world.They also are declared enemies of Socialist nations. One of their current goals is to bring the United States of Greece on their side but they have made no diplomatic successes so far as the U.S.G. condemn their undemocratic ways. So an invasion is invitable in the future. The Polish Kingdom also fears that Russia might invade them and which is not unlikely considering the S.A.F.E. sea block of U.S. ships into the Scandinavian sea and their distance to the R.C.E. But in recent years the Russian Empire is less concerned with invasion or expansion like its rivals the S.A.F.E. and the U.S. but more with striking down revolts in Ukraine or their eastern territories. The Russian Empire lacks behind economically due to lacking industrialization in some areas and missmanagement but still ranks above the Roman-Catholic Empire.

The Roman-Catholic Empire (R.C.E.):
The Roman-Catholic Empire is a Theocrcratic and absolute Monarchy. It was created due to a certain radical Catholic politican named Fermo Bettini which gained an absolute majority with his Catholic People's Alliance. He then abolished the Italian state and seceded all official powers to the Vatican making all of Rome into the holy city once more. Pope Benedict XVII which was a hardliner trying to erase the era of the double-papacy entirely was pleased with this and ordered a Reconquista of Europe in the name of the one true church. Soon many neighbouring countries were either overtaken by Pope loyalists or invaded as well. The rise of popularity for these groups stemmed from the the civil unrest due to the numerous Islamic terror incidents and the chaotic numbers of those following the strange religion they felt endangered by. Their enormous numbers in Europe can be explained by failed past proposals to strengthen border control but eventually collapse came upon and under the R.C.E. there is no more tolerance for "heathens". Catholics live rather comfortably whereas Protestant and Orthodox Christians either mass-converted or got degraded socially to low positions in the very class-based society of the HRE. Heretics, sect members and Jews as well as Muslims whether radical or not were imprisoned, executed or enslaved. Church attendance is mandatory and the Inquisition runs a reign of terror wherever it is sent to in order to "erase impurity". The R.C.E. is on bad terms with the Orthodox and Protestant nations of the world as well as enemies with all Socialist countries or the S.A.F.E. which they had fought with about Switzerland before. The Serbian Despotate also started persecuting Catholics after the R.C.E. invaded Bosnia and Herzigovina and brought many Serbs under their reign. The R.C.E. is lacking behind economically since it neglected industrial and technological advancements. They re-introduced agrarianism in many places and also serfdom of the low class "heathen" members of their society. Neo-Feudal structures lead by local Bishops or heads of the church can also be observed in many instances. Their current long term goals are to re-take Jerusalem from the Assyrian Social-Nationalists and also to reconquista the Iberian peninsula. But as their military is exhausted and lacking behind technologically they are currently focused on maintaining their current Empire- especially against the Ottoman Republic and the S.A.F.E. The R.C.E. has good relations to the Polish Kingdom and National Socialist Romania. They formally deny alliance with the latter because of their religious and ideological disagreements though.

The Swedish Kingdom:
In the dangerous climate of the times with steadily expanding Empires the governments of Sweden, Denmark and Norway worked out an alliance for economic and general security. The plans were progressing well but the S.A.F.E. had begun to infiltrate Danish politics and so after the next elections that were held a Pro-S.A.F.E. party-alliance won the elections and promptly aborted the scandinavian alliance talks. The Social Alternative Party of Denmark had won the elections with extensive S.A.F.E. campaign funding emphasizing their criticism of monarchy and that Sweden could use the alliance to undermine Denmark's freedom. But soon after the new government took office the S.A.F.E. sent them a formal demand to join their Federation- which to the disdain of their supporters signed immediately. Witnessing these developments Sweden's Premier Bjorn Carlsson proposed drastic measures at the next conference with Norway arguing after fall of Iceland and Denmark drastic actions would have to follow so that they would not meet the same fate. But the King of Norway publicly denounced proposals for a unification with Sweden making the population more likely to vote against it in an upcoming referendum they had decided on holding. In despair the Swedish Premier seeked help by the U.S. and with their stationed troops in Sweden they invaded Norway on the day of the referendum seizing all important cities after extensive battles that carried on for months. And so the Norewgian Kingdom was dissolved and became a part of the Swedish Kingdom. The Swedish Kingdom has a stable social system and is financially stable enough to carry on with their allies in the U.S. promising them to keep them independent.

The Iberian Socialist Republic:
With the widespread success of left-wing parties in Spain a declared Communist- Romero Santiago- became the leader of the Spanish government. Under him and his broad coalition of Socialdemocrats, Communists and Greens a referendum about the monarchy was held. The King- distrusted and rallied against by the people accepted it and fled the country after it turned out in favor of Santiago's plans. According to some sources he and the royal family have been living in exile in Britannia since then. Spain then underwent numerous reforms that also included building up a capable military as concerns grew that threats by foreign reactionary and capitalist forces might become too dangerous. When a Fascist movement took control of Portugal Santiago who was now General Secretary of the Spanish Socialist Republic ordered an invasion with the army he had allegedly built for defense. And Portugal lacking any stability after the Fascist coup was quickly overtaken and integrated into Socialist Spain which then became the Iberian Socialist Republic. The I.S.R. is economically weak and has been putting focus on communal agrarian development to maintain an independent food supply although its medical infrastructure lacks behind due to their social system and military being very money consuming. They are facing many terror attacks by Portuguese rebels as well as some potential CIA backed groups in the country all while the S.A.F.E kept growing stronger on their doorstep. The I.S.R. has bad relations with all nations except the few Socialist remnant states and the mighty Union of African Socialist Republics.

The Union of African Socialist Republics:
In the events of the Saharan spring many African states were toppled by Pan-Africanist and Communist movements supported by Libya and Burkina-Faso. The U.S.A. which normally would have stepped in to prevent Socialism from re-emerging and African states causing further problems for the Western Nations and their allies again was busy with its own conflicts in the wake of their own civil war. Thomas Rashid who had been leading the Revolutionary Pan-African Liberation Army (RPALA) successfully united most of North and South Eastern Africa with violent means. In fact local rulers were still in control of the "Republics" of the U.A.S.R. which nostalgically had been named similarly to the long dead U.S.S.R. so Rashid mostly served as a propaganda figure of unity. The U.A.S.R. propagates it seeks to unify "Africans of all Colors" in a new mighty union "where the means of production will belong to the African people". Lofty ideals have been set by the general government although it de facto wields little power over the local leaders that agree to stay within its union. One of their goals is the Invasion of Saudi Arabia which has re-introduced slavery but also seizing Malta from the R.C.E. as they claim it is rightfully African. Due to their militaries being fractured and scattered the Revolutionary Pan-African Liberation Army is their only universial armed force with rather old fashioned weaponry. Thus plans for "liberation through invasion" have not progressed well. The U.A.S.R. has bad relations with the U.S. which has been readying for war with them for a few years now. The R.C.E. also condemns their opposition to religion and puts effort into defending all their island territories with their naval forces sinking any African ships that enter their waters. The greatest ally of the Union of African Socialist Republics in Europe is the I.S.R. which they trade material supplies with.

Britannia:
In the past Britain claimed to rule the waves- now they are a mere colony controlled by one of their former colonial states. After years of isolation from the rest of Europe and failed attempts at free trade with its former colonies had ruined the British economy an Americanist putsch in favor of President Roseberg almost succeeded. He had been idolized by the British far right as a true nobleman of the sword but the British military managed to prevent them from storming Buckingham palace to take the King hostage. Unfortunately the U.S. took this event as an excuse to invade Britain which quickly fell to the Americans' military might. After the British far right leader Brandon Flickers became the leader of the newly established "Republican Party of Britannia" he was soon elected as the governor of the new colony. Britannia has been more stable since economically and people regard America their saviour- though this too is due to extensive Americanist Propaganda. In Ireland uprisings have become more frequent in recent years. Britannia has good relations to the Swedish Kingdom and other democratic Republics in the world.

Czechoslovakia:
With the election of the Czechoslovak Democrats in both Czechia and Slovakia that had been caught up in economic crisis the two countries unified once more. The C.S.D.'s leader Matyáš Svoboda campaigned for re-unification with Slovakia and free-market liberalism as well as widespread privatization. Witht he failure of Social Democrats in both countries and the threat of getting absorbed by growing forces in Europe once more the people were more than willing to back the agenda of their newly elected leaders that started negotiations for re-unification right after taking office in both countries which would come to frution. Czechoslovakia has good relations to the U.S. which is one of its patrons that keeps a considerable numbers of troops in the country. Czechoslovakia is economically stable but poorly developed infrastructure wise. The division between rich and poor has been growing bigger for many years so slowly the support for the new Czechoslovakia is fading and recently Pro-S.A.F.E. movements have been gaining traction in Slovakia. Other friendly nations to Czechoslovakia are the Polish Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The Ottoman Republic:
After Turkey had slowly began re-islsamization of institutions and Attatürk had been tilged from their history by their despotic president the name of the country in Anatolia was soon changed to fit past days of glory as well. The Ottoman Republic formally became an "Islamic Republic" and after the president passed his son took office in his stead. Elections now only change seats in parliament but not the head of state and many argue they are prone to extensive election fraud. The Ottoman Republic has good relations to Saudi Arabia which it now considers an ally against Assyria which holds territories both countries would like to call their own. The opposition of Assyrians to Islam and Christianity spreading in the middle east once more makes them one of the Ottoman Republic's top enemies. But with the U.S. ceasing to support their military development they increasingly have fallen behind in the arms race. The United States of Greece frequently criticze the Ottoman Republic for not being truly democratic but they still maintain trade relations.

The United States of Greece:
The United States of Greece came into existence after the U.S.A. prevented a Communist take over of the country as uprisings had begun- largely fueled by high unemployment and poverty. The new reforms made Greece more federal than before and helped ease conflict considerably. After the U.S.A. became the United State relations have cooled off as Greece wishes to remain true to democracy though they are still on friendly terms with most other democracies. Their military and economy are both weak but the U.S. does not entertain many bases there due to resistance by the Greek government. Invasion by the neighbouring Fascist or Islamist nations as well as the S.A.F.E. could be invitable. Although the Russian Empire has shown much interest in forming better ties to Greece they have been largely rejected due to their brutally absolutistic ways and lack of religious freedom.

Greater Romania:
With the rise of Ultranationalism in Romania Neonazis eventually took control with the far-right elected government stepping down for them voluntarily. After they soon invaded Moldova which they claimed to be rightfully theirs. Greater Romania is National Socialist in ideology and tries to emulate Germany under Hitler's reign persecuting Jews or Gypsies but also Hungarians and other ethnic minorities propagating "Latin Supremacy" of native Romanians. Greater Romania has good ties to other Fascist nations and harbors sympathies for the R.C.E. due to their Latinist ideology viewing it as a kind of related "Roman brother nation" although the R.C.E. not so warmly returns these feelings as the National Socialist Romania was mostly Orthodox religiously. Greater Romania is economically weak and militaristic in nature and heavily relies on wine trade with the Russian Empire.

The Serbian Despotate:

Stefan Brancovic erected the Serbian Despotate after the Great Balkan War with the help of the Bulgarian State. His retromonarchist movement intending him to become the new King of Serbia did not receive too much following before the war with Albania over Kosovo. After their victory his sentiments for unification with Montenegro helped him gain popular support. After his election he introduced a new constitution making him the Despote of Serbia under constitutional law. Uprisings were struck down by Bulgarian agents and the Serbian military. Serbia later gave half of Albania to the United States of Greece in exchange for food as a famine had struck the country with the treaty of Tirana. Serbia is a poor country with a police state. The S.A.F.E. authorities have not considered its addition to the Federation thus far because of their underdevelopment. Serbia has warm relations to the Russian Empire whose Monarch inspired Brancovic's movement for large parts. Serbia also has good ties to other monarchies and some democratic states. The R.C.E. considers Serbia an enemy as Barancovic ordered to persecute Catholics after witnessing what the R.C.E. did to Serbs in Bosnia which he originally wanted to partially add to Serbia as well. The Bulgarian State has a military alliance with Serbia promising to aid it in case of war.

The Bulgarian State:
The Brotherhood of the Golden Lion was an Orthodox Ultranationalist movement that gained support in Bulgaria thanks to Russian support. Due to previous crisis with migrants and popular distrust towards the corrupt democratic government the movement grew in numbers and steadily radicalized into an outright Fascist paramility group. They putsched the government and declared Bulgaria a Fascist State of God's grace soon after. Bulgaria entertains a well structured secret service they use to meddle with foreign affairs despite their lack of great military or economic might. Serbia is one of their allies since the Great South Balkan war and they aided their poor slavic comrades of Orthodox faith and helped Brancovic to seize control over the country. The Bulgarian State persecutes ethnic and religious minorities vigoriously and their secret police much takes after the Gestapo of Hitler's Germany although they claim to ideologically be more in line with Fascism rather than National Socialism. The Bulgarian State harbors negative feelings towards Greater Romania due to their mistreatment of Slavs but they still maintain relations due to their ideological similarities. The Russian Empire is their most powerful ally.

The Polish Kingdom:
Poland which had always been a strongly conservative Catholic nation had begun radicalizing long before the S.A.F.E. and the R.C.E. even came to be. The militant Catholic National Front gained a full majority in elections due to Poland's opposition to the reforms done by the Double-Papacy they deemed to be a heretic act not in line with church doctrine. The C.N.F. declared that Poland can no longer be a democracy because people were meant to serve only one leader- Jesus Christ- God. And so the C.N.F. formally abolished democracy in Poland and continues in a traditionalist Catholic nationalist one party government since. Distinct about them is the lack of a single leading figure and the direct involvement of Catholic bishops in their party. Poland officially became known as the "Polish Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit" with the new constitution of Poland refering to Jesus Christ as the one true head of state and monarch of Poland. The Polish Kingdom has bad relations with the S.A.F.E. due to their secular nature. The S.A.F.E. also has often stated that Poland may be on the list of considered places of expansion. Poland has good relations with the R.C.E. which aids them economically and financially. The R.C.E. which came to be after the Polish Kingdom has offered Poland to join its realm once they decide to recognize the Pope again which thus far has not yet been the case. The Polish Kingdom is at goot terms with various monarchies and republics in Europe inspite of its odd form of government- the Catholic National Front has not persecuted minorities to the exctent Fascist nations or the R.C.E. have and generally tolerate Christians of other denominations whilst still discriminating Jews by law.

The Persian Empire:
With the return of the Shah- backed by not only the Russian Empire but also the U.S. the Persian Empire is the youngest and smallest out of the Empires of the times. Russia and America both worrying about their oil supply under the Islamist Iranian state decided to temporarily aide the same side and so with the help of their weapons, Zoroastrian militants gathered from exile and Pro-Monarchy rebels the Iranian Islamic Republic fell. The Shah ended Islamist oppression and re-established the law of old Persia taking a secular approach to religions only tolerating moderate forms of Christianity and Islam and granting special protection to Zoroastrians in the new Persia. Persia has bad relations with Saudi Arabia and the Ottoman Republic. The U.S. and the Russian Empire both maintain trade with Persia making it economically prosperous compared to Assyria which was still struggling to rebuild its economy on its own.

Assyria:
In the wake of the Assyrian revolution the Assyrian Social Nationalist Party at last could succeed with Americans retreating to take care of their own civil war. Assyria stretches accross Syria, Palestine and Jordania as well as Cyprus. Ideologically it is highly social but also extremely nationalist. The ASSNP promotes Christianity and Assyrian culture in the new state. Governing in a one party state with local elections Assyria is relatively stabled despite its troubled creation. Zionism and Communism as well as Islamism have been outlawed leading to terror attacks happening every now and then usually by Zionists funded by the U.S. or Islamists supported by Saudi Arabia. But the militaristic Assyria quickly deals with these threats before they can escalate. They maintain a neutral relationship to the S.A.F.E. as they feel they have things in common and engage in trade. The U.S. are one of their main enemies beside the Islamist states. Recently diplomats of Assyria have been attempting to build an alliance with Persia which has come into existence not long ago. Assyria also receives critical support from the Iberian Socialist Republic that deems them an Anti-Imperialist and Anti-Islamist nation. Assyria harbors negative feelings for the U.A.S.R. due to their Pan-Africanism and ideals opposed to their own.
