I've noted in the past that magical girl shows seem improved when they skew closer to classic superhero comics. (Which says something for my opinion of the average quality of MG shows.... even if I can hardly do without them.)
When I first noted that, this wasn't what I was thinking of. But it might be an improvement all the same.
