Cool.
but square helmet will not deflect the blows but it will absorb the blows.. Dwarfs are small so almost all blows against them will be from up to down so they need --- a spherical helmets that deflecting the blows.

Thinking about it, to drop the LOTR feel, it would be great to make dwarves eigther more viking (round shields, long danish axes, viking helms, like this [link] and this [link] ), or, even better, babylonian (with overly braided hair and beards like this: [link] )

I think you have it backwards. Β Tolkien's books gave a very barebones outline of dwarves and their culture. Β Fantasy books and D&D fleshed out dwarves so they became an in depth race.

Too much Lord of the Ring movie, IMHO. D&D should try to get their own Dwarf.

Plus, the handle should not be made of metal since it would unbalance the weapon. The inner part of the shiel should feel more real and under the plate should be a mail or something sturdier.

really awesome stuff, but it does feel like this hammer's handle feel really out of place. Too simple? Especially for a dwarven hammer, in my mind.
