Description
It's a well known secret that Chrysalis has seasonal allergies so severe that even a puff of pollen will makes her break down into a sobbing mess. Interestingly enough, she tries to pass this off as raw emotional outbursts. Changelings respect those who give emotions freely after all. Of course, this becomes awkward and mildly offensive when attending budgetary meetings, greeting foreign dignitaries, paying for postage stamps...This is a requested cover done for Maternal Instinct by Magic Man . This story has an interesting take on the changeling race, I can tell you that much. Let's say that if you're a Japanese history buff, you might enjoy this a lot.
"Queen Chrysalis has only one grub that has survived into fillyhood; her daughter, the physically lame and mentally impaired Crown Princess Pupa. Chrysalis has never been what many would call the 'maternal type', even towards Pupa, whose adoration of her mother has no bounds. Preferring to swamp herself in the dire affairs of state, Chrysalis lets her crippled daughter be raised by her affectionate nanny. But one day, as the Changeling Kingdom's problems reach boiling point, the Queen's already short temper irrupts and she must deal with the heartbreaking consequences..."

Japanese characters are fairly complicated. Β There are more than five hundred and there are lots of variations and combinations. Β This form of writing is known as Kanji, if I'm not mistaken. Β There's another, more formal version of Japanese characters.

This is Kanji, but there is way more than 500 kanji, it's the most formal method of Japanese writing.Β

Very nice Chinese art theme. The calligraphy isn't perfect, but still it's greatly influenced the painting itself.
