Description A hair tutorial was requested of me some time ago, though procrastination had gotten the best of me as one would expect.
The progress shots should speak for themselves; however I provided a description for each step so I may post this in the tutorials section. I recommend that if you were to make use of this, pay no mind to my incoherent ramblings and carry on.
This is simply one possible method of drawing hair, and there is no proper way of doing such. The beauty of art presents itself through improvisation - in short, there is no need to follow this tutorial pixel for pixel.

I apologise for neither responding to messages nor producing new art - my laptop has passed away.

I've always wondered how you managed to get such smooth results. I really appreciate the fact that you've described which colours you picked since that is usually overlooked in most tutorials. I guess it takes years of practice to make it perfect, but this tutorial seems to be an excellent starting point.

Thank you very much; the colour descriptions were somewhat of an afterthought, though I am working to improve my sense of colour as well.

The same technique should apply toward smaller pixels as well, perhaps omitting a few steps.

Well all I really do pixel-wise is icons and there's not much room for tons of details in them so I think I'll stick to the technique I already use for icons and keep this tutorial in mind for a time when I pixel on a larger scale.
