A tutorial I made for pixel avvies. It took all afternoon, but I'm pretty proud of it c:I hope it covers enough, it's my first every tutorial-if you have any questions, just leave a comment and if you make a sprite using this tutorial, I'd love to see it!

Actually, PNG's are best for pixel art. PNG's are designed for images that have areas of solid color, which includes pixel art. JPEG'S are designed for photos that do not have areas of solid color but instead, gradients and noise everywhere, and they work by tossing out 'useless' data. You do not want that. What PNG's do instead is provide a different way to cut down file sizes but they do not toss out data, which makes it the best format for pixel art.

There's nothing really too wrong,
Not being mean at all If I seem so I'm really sorry
But the one strategy i saw was pillow shading, Pillow shading adds more lighting
to the middle of the piece.
