I think you rendered a very powerful expression of a very powerful personality. Some parts of this are just amazing, specially the deepness in his eyesβ¦ (pardon the clichΓ©). The work you did with is hair is also realy somethingβ¦
However, choosing such popular character does half the job for when people look at him, they see what they already know and feel. Plus, including his suicide note in the comment makes it a little demagogic and encourages people to think more about what they know instead of what you want to show themβ¦ Thatβs probably why you got lots of comments like βKurt Cobain 4 Everβ, βI love Kurt heheβ, and so onβ¦
Lotβs of people admired this drawing for itβs similarity with a photograph, or for it being so βrealisticββ¦ I say leave βrealismβ to photography (copying the realism in a picture with a pencil is nonsense). With your great skill I think you should try to draw real life people and capture the their essence, their expressions, gestures, joy or fear or loneliness or whatever you see in them and want to show... You probably wonβt get as many favs (unless you know popular people who would pose for you) but for sure youβll grow as an artist.

wonderful work. i love how the texture of the work seems almost as grungy as the guy himself. especially good work with the eyes. all too often, the eyes of a piece seem so flat, but you seem to have avoided this error. =tip=

Kurt Cobain was the one person who actually brought me into appreciating music on more then just a base level. He made me want to learn how to play guitar. The very first song I learned how to play was Penny Royal Tea.
Such an amazing person...I wish he hadn't decided it was time.

No offense to Kurt or anyone affiliated/obsessed with him, but he was right, it is better to burn out than to fade away. Think now of all the bands who are slowly fading from greatness to total crap [e.g.: Metallica]. Think of how dead grunge is now, and how horrible it would feel for him to be so great as he was and now to live in this shithole world. He would probably be more hated now by the trendy fukers than he would be loved by the true fans he has.
Just my thoughts...
