True, but would grunge die if Kurt didn't die? I live in tacoma, the largest city next to seattle, and grunge is very much alive here. Another point, have you heard the leaked song "You know you're right" ? That song must've been recorded a while ago, but it sounds incredibly like some of todays songs. Critics were saying that Nirvana was washed up after the Bleach record, but if you look at that song and Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters as well as his many side projects, its very believable that Nirvana would still be popular and would either be driving on the grunge scene or evolving with the times.

but, that's a no-brainer, right?
i've been wanting to do a kurt for awhile. got this one picture of him with an acoustic
out fo a guitar magazine (think this one of your's might have been a cover,...am i right?)...
and got this huge poster of him and the other nirvana guys on my wall where my computer
and art crap is that's pretty cool as well.
man. that eye peering out of the darkness is stone cold cool. the whole thing is
amazing. the rough 'grunge' like look of it goes well with the subject matter. really love
how you got the highlights of his hair. white charcoal? masked it? eraser? or just that
damn meticulous with your pencils.

That is beautiful. You have managed to capture the sadness of his eyes, which most artists, when depicting such an icon, do not focus on. I think the sadness in Kurt's eyes is a direct representation of his entire lifes misfortunes, which makes me think, as sad as it is, perhaps it was better for him to burn out.
After all, he did state, "The worst crime I can think of would be to put people off by faking it and pretenting as if I'm having 100% fun".

But really, this is great! Did you just use pencil? Everything is super well done, shading... and it looks almost exactly like a picture. You have an awsome talent here. I've tried my hand at realisim once.. I hope to get as good as this some day. Really inspirational work.
