I was struggling so hard to make it colored but with a transparent background. It took me so long and I found out you can go to the layers styles and make an outer glow with a color and it's basically the same thing. I made someone an avatar for a forum with your tut. Thanks!

I couldnt do step five D: i put the overlay but the box in the layer isnt filled with color red as shown in your picture. Please help!

i dont know what that is nor would i know how to do it D: but do you see the xmall box on step 5? It should be filled with the color "red" how did you do it?

well, I just created a new layer, picked the colour and used the Paint Bucket Tool to colour the new layer.

Oh i got it but what if you have a background under there? Red will fill up the whole thing? Its okay if you dont answer, youve already been such a great help ^^

If you put the layers with the white fireworks and the read overlay-layer in a group, the overlay-effect will just affect to the layers in the group. So the background will not be coloured red (or the colour you chose)
