Description
G3 My Little Pony. It's cute! No, seriously, it is. I watched their cartoons, and they were good, nowhere near as bad as the bronies make of it. In fact, I stopped calling myself a brony when I saw how they treated the G3 and G3.5 ponies. It wasn't meant for teens and grownups anyways. But I still enjoy it regardless, because they are cute and adorable as they should be. And for the record, I'm am fond of Minty, Kimono, Skywishes, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Thistle Whistle. Those are my favorite G3 ponies. As for the G3.5 ponies, I like them too, mostly Toola-Roola, Rainbow Dash, and Cheerilee. So here's my pony OC, Spring Breeze in G3 form. His colors are different from his G4 color scheme. His personality isn't any different either, the only difference is that he would like windy days and rollerskating. He'd be friends with everyone and his best friend would be Skywishes.
Cheers to our G3 MLP fans! (And any G3.5 fans out there!)

Sometimes I think G4 tries too hard to impress older viewers anyway.

Also, odd as this sounds, I think G3 has catchier songs.Β Case in point:
Giggle At The Ghosties from Elements Of Harmony vs. Get The Giggles from Come Back, Lily Lightly

Your right it wasn't made for teens or adult. However G3.5 &G4 is kinda creepy to me,but hasbro don't care anyway. They made it for age 3-8 not 13-18.

Awesomely drawn, he looks exactly like a G3 pony. Β And you're right, G3 is an adorable show, I even like it better than FIM at times (other times I like FIM better, and other times I find them equal, but G3 and G4 are still my favorite generations).Β I am sick to death of how so many of my fellow bronies insulted, and I am doing all I can to put an end to the G3 hate.Β I honestly don't know where it comes from - G3 and G4 are actually pretty similar in places, so hatred is pointless.Β Great choice on your favorite G3 ponies - those are some of mine too.

Thanks! And you're right, G3 and G4 can be equal at times. Great to hear that you're doing your best to stop the G3 hate. When this G3 hate end, I''ll rejoice. (Not really. I'll just be very happy. ) I think the hate comes from the fact that think G3 is "childish and girly." What they don't know is that the target audience is 3-7 year old girls, not meant for teens. It is true that G3 and G4 are similar in some episodes while in others, it's a mix between G1 and G4, so yes, it is pointless to hate older generations.

Spring Breeze is really cute, and it's cool to see a G3 stallion, I always wished Hasbro would include stallions in the G3 line, but alas, it never came to be. I've been a MLP fan for some time (it was G3 that got me into it, in fact) so it's disappointing to see how previous generations are being treated, especially G3. Just because something is cute and kiddish, doesn't mean it warrants hate. :/
And ooh, cool coincidence! Minty, Sky Wishes and Thistle Whistle are my faves too!

Thanks a bunch! G3 would have been more diverse with a few stallions, but I'm perfectly fine with all of the ponies being girls.Β
I've became a fan thanks to G4, but I stopped watching Friendship is Magic due to prejudice against older generations, mainly G3 and G3.5. It put me off from watching the G4 show. So now I'm a fan of any generation prior to G4.
A coincidence indeed! Those three put a smile on my face whenever I see them!

A G3 stallion? Awesome! I like his colors, so bright and My Little Ponyish~
It was actually pretty sad there was no stallions in G3. I do think most ponies should be mares, but a few boys would have been nice.
I've always hated the way most bronies treat the previous generation. I prefer them to G4, and most likely always will, and I could never call myself brony/pegasister/whatever those FiM-fans call themselves.Β
I don't understand the hate towards older ponies, and that the stories are called "childish". Their target audience was only girls between 3-7, but FiM was planned for little girls AND their mothers, to be watched together. So of course it's different.
The hate most bronies show made me dislike and loathe bronies... Now I'm just neutral about them, as long as they don't diss older ponies! (Or babble about clap fics or something else that should have nothing to do with ponies)Β
All ponies should be respected. And bronies should remember that Faust created FiM because she loved those older ponies a lot. Without them, G4 wouldn't exist.

Thanks a lot! It would have been so cool to see a few stallions in the G3 cartoons, even with fact that it's a girl's show.
And I agree with everything you said. I used to be a brony before going on a nostalgia trip, only to see that the bronies despise of G3 and G3.5 MLP. I've watched an entire episode of G3 ponies and I thought it was cute. I stopped calling myself a brony due to their unanimous hate against them as seen on every YouTube video featuring G3 ponies. It actually put me off from watching FiM on TV and on the internet. Like you, I'll always prefer G3 over G4. They look closer to actual ponies than those bouncy, big eyed G4 ponies. I'm neutral about bronies, but when they diss older generations of My Little Pony or talk about ponies in places where such a thing wouldn't be talked about, that's when I loathe and dislike them.
Respect for all generations of My Little Pony is the way to go.

I don't even read comments on G1-G3.5 videos on YouTube anymore. Too much bronies. I've always wondered, that since they dislike older ponies, why do they keep watching those videos and commenting tehm?

Beats me. Maybe they like to rub it in and get other people to dislike it. Or maybe they have so much time on their hands, watching older generations that they hate, rather than leaving them alone.
That's why I got an extension for my browser that allows me to hide comments, likes/dislikes, and video suggestions. It makes YouTube more bearable to use.

Larjus In reply to CookietheMouse [2013-08-11 19:46:08 +0000 UTC]
Whatever the reason is, they're stupid doing so. I thought bronies were supposed to "love and tolerate"... But as long as they leave me and my dear ponies be, I don't really care their motives. I bet they're stupid anyways.
Where did you get that extension? I need that, I've never interested in others' comments/likes/dislikes. They annoy me so much...

CookietheMouse In reply to Larjus [2013-08-11 20:50:58 +0000 UTC]
No doubt they're stupid. They think they "love and tolerate" but in reality, they don't. That phrase means nothing if they hate our cute, colorful, and chubby ponies.
This extension I have is called "YouTube Options." I found it on the Chrome Web Store since I'm using Google Chrome, but if you're using anything other than chrome, just search for a similar extension for your browser.

The bronies ARE treating the older Generations really bad, to be honest. They were a big part of my childhood, and it's just not fair how they talk about them some people say they're all lesbians -.- and I think they are also cute, they don't have these HUGE and SCARY eyes... ._.
What a cute OC Pony ^^ A G3 male Pony...never seen that before

You are totally right! Put simply, these bronies just don't care about our childhood, growing up with My Little Pony. Lesbians? Like really? Calling these adorable G3 ponies lesbians is so wrong. G3 and G3.5 ponies are cute in EVERY aspect and I personally prefer their character design over the G4 ones.
And thanks! This is probably the only G3 male pony in existence! Β

Same with me, I really really prefer them. They are not so...small, and so...scary, IDK and what do you even need relationships for, in a KIDS show? for LITTLE girls? I watched the G4 and I don't want to hurt anyone, but I was really dissapointed.
you're welcome! I guess he is. I only have one female G3 OC :3

It's ok to be disappointed by G4, after all, it's radically different from all the other generations in terms of animation. It didn't appeal to me, even though I watched it, but the show is just as good as some would say.

I have to say, it's not as girly as it was before anymore. I think the shows change with the generations of children watching it. But seriously, when I first saw those...sorry....Aliens, I wondered what the hell that is, totally not my Pinkie pie. And since when is there any need for my little Ponies to get married, have children or a Queen??
The animation Style is quite different, I agree here. The G4 Ponies are more....bouncing instead of walking, as I noticed. Not even a little foal can walk like that

CookietheMouse In reply to PinkToadette [2013-08-11 16:59:32 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, shows evolve to cater to our evolving generations of children. But I have to say that G4 Pinkie Pie is too random for my tastes. I also wasn't fond of ponies getting married, and even though I like the idea of foals, I'm pretty sure we don't need families in the world of My Little Pony. Best friends forever is good enough in my opinion.

So true ._. Where did the one who made the G3 go? Or did they go crazy? I don't mean to insult the G4. Or the Bronies. But should GUYS with...18 Years or older watch a show for little girls? And even these...I don't know but they are not my little ponies anymore. They are so...stubby and big-eyed....

MJNSEIFER In reply to PinkToadette [2013-08-14 00:35:12 +0000 UTC]
So youβre saying that because Iβm male, I canβt be a fan of My Little Pony?
Does it really matter what gender, or even age the franchise was originally aimed at? Is it not possible for a guy to appreciate a heart-warming episode about love and friendship? Do you need to be female, to, when youβre feeling like an outsider, listen to the beautiful tear-jerking, but ultimately inspirational lyrics of Shine On? Does the message that we are all equal, no matter who we may appear to be, from The Princess Promenade not apply to everyone? Have we not all, like the Cutie Mark Crusaders (and even Ember if you think about it...) been in doubt over what our purpose in life is?
I would never disallow a girl for liking something that was made for boys, so why should I not be allowed to like My Little Pony?

I'm not sure where they went, or if they still around, but if they're still around, making G4, then I'm sure they, with each passing episode and season, are catering to the likes of bronies. I personally think guys 18 or older shouldn't be watching shows for little girls because they could get addicted to it somehow for whatever crazy reason and spread it around like wildfire. Just imagine a group of guys starting to like Littlest Pet Shop and then get a whole batch of grown men to get hooked to the show like they did with MLP:FiM. It would be crazy! It should be ONLY ok for men to like a little girl's show if they keep it to themselves and not talk about it to anyone, except to the girls who are fans of the show. I do watch a little girl's show, but the only one I watch is the older generations of MLP, especially G3-G3.5 because they reflect how my childhood was: happy and carefree. I stopped watching G4 when this whole generations war started. Like you, I'm not insulting G4 MLP or the bronies.
As for the pony designs of G4, yeah... not our little ponies anymore. They say that the bigger eyes convey more expression. The eyes of G1-G3.5 can convey expressions just as well! And there's nothing wrong with having a princess that is the same size as everyone in the show.
And speaking of princesses, I was not fond with the idea that the princesses of G4 can lower and raise the sun and moon. Where did they come up with that? I don't see how that actually works with the natural flow of things.

I see no need in Princesses at all...
I think it's kind of...ruining the guys. They should act like adults, and not watch shows with scary little sparkle pony thingies running around and writing to a... princess what friendship is. I totally tolerate the G4 and everything, but I can't understand this war and the hate against G3 and older. They were OUR Ponies. The people didn't even know those, but insult them and think they know it better. And that's what I hate.
We wont be able to change it, even my very best friend is a brony, but it will never stop getting on our nerves

CookietheMouse In reply to PinkToadette [2013-08-13 22:09:10 +0000 UTC]
That's what I hate about it too, insulting our ponies. That's why whenever this whole brony thing dies out, we will feel better. At first when I heard about bronies, I thought they like all generations of My Little Pony, but nope, this is what we get instead... I do understand they have done some good things like donating to charity and stuff like that, but it seems as if the bad side of the brony fandom is shining out more. But then again, EVERY fanbase has it's bad side.
Oh yeah, I'd loves to see a generation of MLP that has no princesses. A "down to earth" generation that is.

Let's just say that the generation I have conjured up in my mind is more realistic than the other generations: no magic and no princesses. Also there would be ponies from every generation, but they would look different depending on the generation they originated from. For example: A pony from G1 will look like a G1 pony. A pony from G3 would look like a G3 pony and so forth. The only exception would be the Core 7, in which they would look their G3.5 counterparts (I find them cute).
