He actually does. Way more than Tennant.

Very good. I'm going through all of his serials (even the lost ones, which are only available as audiobooks), and he is a terrific Doctor. He can be warm and grandfatherly, but he has a stern edge and a wily streak that make him a dangerous adversary. I truly enjoy the stories he's in, even if the story itself is mediocre.

Oh yes, this moment is what hooked me on Hartnell as the doctor.

The specific episode is "The Forest of Fear." I just recently got hooked on the series myself and have started the archive trawl. I just saw this one last week, actually. And Hartnell is without question a great Doctor! I'm not experienced enough to say he's my favorite, but he's definitely at the top of the list.

What does the think bubble mean?

Anyway, still great picture. And true.

It's a reference to a scene in one of the first episodes (I forget the name... I think it has 'Forest' in the title?) where he's contemplating bashing the caveman's head in with a rock. At least, that's what's heavily implied

"An Unearthly Child"
Very nice pun!

Thanks.

I was trying to be more specific with the episode title... I think it's part three of "An Unearthly Child", which I'm sure was "Forest of the something or other".

But yes, I'm glad you like it.

Oh, good. I didn't know the ep. was avaliable in parts. I thought it was just one big...thing.

I hate the fact that he's so underrated. I mean, not only was he the first doctor and the fact that set conditions were terrible, his stuff was the deepest and most interesting (plot-line wise.) Did he have jelly babies to munch on? No. Did he have a bunch of fans from previous incarnations already? No. Did he even have colour on TV? No!

Yet still he's my second favourite. Go figure.
